I've just recieved the first error box at start up yesterday, stating Logitech Desktop Messenger has stopped working properly and
This product is no longer supported by the manufacturer. Then a message offering solutions has a link to a web page that states; Oops.
This is not the page you're looking for. But unfortunately, that Logitech product or page is not available in your location. (You may even have a bad link.) Go ahead and keep browsing www.logitech.com for the latest products, support, company information and more.
Mouse has been acting sticky lately despite good fresh batteries and keyboard has scrolled in on Zoom, enlarging the screen by itself and not allowing us to restore the size.
Using Windows Vista X64 with Logitech cordless Desktop MX 3200 Laser Keyboard and Mouse combo.

I keep getting an error on start up from my desktop messenger that it can't find the bwfiles.dll . It also says there is a know compatibility issue with my operating system and this program.
I am working with window 7, 64bit system.
Is there anyway to fix this problem?

So does this keyboard (MK300) light up or not? It used to I believe. Using XP. No other problems with the keyboard or the mouse but I too am frustrated with the lack of caps lock/num lock lights. The receiver plugged into the desktop used to light up from memory but it doesn't now.

got message that desktop messenger shut down unexpectedly. this happened after a 3 wk repair job had been done on my computer. initial problem (blue screen) may have been due to mouse/keybord malfunctioning. got main processor replaced and connected peripherals one by one. after connecting mouse/keybord, and restarting computer, the above-mentioned error message popped up. i uninstalled desktop messenger. working with windows vista.

Just recently I have been getting this message at startup,"RUNNER ERROR runner file name (LogitechDesktopMessanger.exe) lacks a '-'(the app id separator).
I think it may have started after I just did some maintenance(defrag, utilities, etc.)

I am not sure if this has alot to do with the actual Desktop Mesenger but I thought you could use the info anyway. The problem program I am experencing in located in /ProgramFiles/Logitech/DesktopMessenger/8876480/8.
The specific problem is the program randomly runs on my computer for 10 sec or so then disappears. This is a big problem because it causes my current program to lose focus, and when gaming it is particularly bad. I only noticed it out of luck while having my task manager processes open while it was happening and I saw it pop up. I searched my computer for the program and this was the only one on my computer. To test that it was the correct program, I renamed it restarte.exe and now I just get a popup window telling me that restart.exe could not be run. This is better because it does not make my current program lose focus.
I would still like to know what it is and why it is constantly trying to run on my computer. Plaease contact me via email about this. If this is not the right place for this issue let me know so that I can post it in the forum, thanks.
We are interested in knowing:
1. What Operating System are you using? - Windows 7
2. When did the problem occur? - Started maybe 9 months ago. Randomly in clusters.Sometimes it wont happen for weeks then for a few weeks it will happen over and over, sometimes constantly, sometimes 5 min apart.
3. Any other system information you think might be helpful in troubleshooting this problem. - I have the following Logitech products: Wireless mouse / keyboard; G13; Spreakers; microphone.

After running a purchased program for PC Cleanup(which didn't work), I am getting this message on startup - Runner file name (LogitechDesktopMessanger.exe) lacks a'-' (the app id separator). How can I fix the problem? Your help will be greatly appreciated.
