Disable SetPoint for Media Keys?

I have the MX 3200 keyboard and mouse bundle. I really like it, but after setting up my computer I've noticed that the Zune player won't respond properly. With SetPoint installed after pressing the play/pause button it will apparently press the button twice. It will play/pause for a second and revert to what it was doing previously. It doesn't do this with WMP, and it works fine without SetPoint. I need SetPoint though, as certain features of the keyboard and mouse don't work properly without it.

Is there any way to get SetPoint to release control of the media keys or get the Zune app to function properly with it? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Re: Disable SetPoint for Media Keys?

I would really love to be able to do this as well. SetPoint is severely lacking in the ability for each user to customize it the exact way they want.

Re: Disable SetPoint for Media Keys?

Same problem here, Spotify and Logitech K800 wireless illuminated keyboard

When i use the 'Next' & 'Forward' media FN buttons with spotify minimized or unfocuzed it skips 2 songs ahead.

When i use the 'Play/Pause' media FN buttons with spotify minimized or unfocuzed it pauses for a period of about 00:30-01:30min then starts playing a random song in the current playlist.

(wrote it like this so it will be easier for others to find this in google aswell)

this is with Windows 7 Ultimate x64 & SetPoint installed (as i need for the other functions for both mice and keyboard)

give us an answer please. we payed good money for this equipment and it doesnt fulfill our expectations.(atleast not mine =/ )

Re: Disable SetPoint for Media Keys?

I found how to fix this, no help to logitech.

I'm severely dissapointed in their support, after going through one replacement with the issue persisting, in the second ticket I opened, I was informed that the media keys are only supported in windows media player and itunes, which is stated NO WHERE in the product description.

Trying to get a straight answer from them is like pulling teeth.  Anyway, to the solution.
This involves modifying keyboard config files and is probably not a condoned method, and I am not to be held accountable for this but here goes.

Find the file 2000064.xml on your computer, which should be found in C:\ProgramData\Logishrd\SetPointP\Devices\Keyboard\2000064

and open it in your editor of choice, I enjoy notepad++

Find the section headed by this text

<!-- Button Name=>F10 Previous Track-->

and delete it, as well as the ones headed

<!-- Button Name=>F10 seek <<-->

<!-- Button Name=>F11 Play-->

<!-- Button Name=>F12 Next Track-->

<!-- Button Name=>F12 seek >>-->

Just so its clear what your deleting, its the section that looks like this

<Button Number="786614" Name="F10T">
					<Param Type="FKey" IconLoc="Devices\\Keyboard\\CommonIcons\\previous_track"/>
					<Trigger Class="ButtonPress">
						<Param Button="786614"/>
						<TriggerState Name="ButtonDownUp"	HandlerSet="MM PREVIOUS" HandlerSetGroup="MMPREVIOUSUberGroup"/>
					</Trigger>
				</Button>

 I have uberoptions installedd so yours will be slightly different.

After you do this, the buttons will not be handled by setpoint, instead handled by windows.

Enjoy your keyboard that now works as it should have out of the box.  Logitech has lost me as a customer throughout this.  I have previously sworn by logitech and reccomended them to others, but after this, thats not happening.

Re: Disable SetPoint for Media Keys?

I have found a solution for this problem. This will not make sense why it works but it just does.

You need to install Microsoft Intellitype. This is the software for Microsoft Keyboards.

32 bit

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7040

64 bit

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3086

I was having the media button issues with my K750 and zune software, as well as the calculator focus issues. I installed the Intellitype software on my system, and it fixed all the issues.

I'm not a programmer so I have no idea how or why this fixed the problems, but it does.

So select the download for your system. I know the Intellitype software is an older verson, but I can confirm that this solution works on both 32 and 64 bit versons. When prompted what microsoft keyboard you have, I selected the mulitmedia keyboard. I don't know if selecting a different keyboard will make a difference.

Once installed all your media keys should function correctly. I hope this helps other frustrated logitech keyboard owners.

Re: Disable SetPoint for Media Keys?

I have no idea how you found installing the Microsoft program would cure this problem but thanks to you I can now use my K800 properly.

As someone says, no mention of the only media program one can use is Windows Media Player, no mention of MS software if the keyboard doesn't operate. Sad piece of support to say the least.

Anyway, my wife is now happy, as she'd paid an arm and a leg to please me and buy a wireless keyboard.

Many thanks for your inspired idea. Oh, and a Happy New Year, as its NY Eve today.
