since I need to type quite often in multilingual documents: How can I accomplish that?
My Ultrathin Keyboard for iPad 3 has an english layout.
Switching back to the onscreen keyboard is quite inefficient here...
Any help is appreciated.

The Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover works as a regular keyboard and depends on the iPad to perform properly. Let me ask you, when you go to the keyboard settings on your iPad to change the language, can you use the Ultrathin keyboard then?
I'll look forward to your reply.

I bought an ultra thin keyboard for my daughter for her new iPad mini to take to France with her, and I don't think she has been able to figure out how to get the keyboard to type in French.
Can anyone help me with simple instructions that an old dinosaur (me) can understand?
Thank you very much.

You can try changing the keyboard language on your iPad Mini. Check out the following Apple FAQ:
I hope this information helps.

thanks for your effort - as the problem still persists.
Changing the hardware keyboard language on the iPad does not help - since the hardware layout is fixed by the Ultrathin Keyboard iPad itself...
Blind-typing french, german etc. special chars not even knowing where there corresponsing keys are located on the Ultrathin Keyboard iPad with its english hardware layout does not make any sense at all. I'm sure everyone will agree.
Apart from that there are special cars (like Ç and ç) that do not their own keys on the french version of the keyboard.
The question still is: How to enter these special non-english characters on an english layout of the Ultrathin Keyboard iPad?
For example, on the onscreen keyboard of the iPad a long press of chars like "c" are bringing up a pop-up that allows the selection of the desired char (like ç). Try it for yourself.
Is there something similar available with Ultrathin Keyboard iPad?
With Apple's own keyboard there should be such a function (pressing the Alt key in addition to the c). Why does this NOT work with the on english Ultrathin Keyboard iPad?

thank you very much for your support.
