F-lock key is stuck on

I only use the F keys ocationally, so I am not sure when this started. When I tryed to use them today, I found that the F-lock function was on. But When I hit the F-lock button to turn it off, all it does is says in big green text "Play/Pause", and sometimes it opens the Windows Media Player. However, it does not turn off the F-lock function, so the f keys accually work as F keys.

I did find the one note about F-lock in the product support about it starting with F-lock on. In that is talked about setting the function keys to Transparant Pass-Through, and that might have worked except for some reason the list of F key only has F1-F4 and F9-F12, so I can't set F5-F8 to use Transparent Pass-Through.

I have reinstalled the drivers, and rebooted the computer. I have also removed from the batterys from the keyboard in the hope that might clear something. But nothing seems to have helped.

This is the Logitech Cordless Access Keyboard.

Re: F-lock key is stuck on

Try removing the batteries and typing for several minutes (2-5 minutes is recommended). You won't see anything on your screen, don't worry. That's to be expected. However, this will reset the keyboard computer chip to factory specs and allow the keyboard to function properly, if it's a battery memory problem. Try that, and try on another computer without any software installed.

Re: F-lock key is stuck on

[ Edited ]

Tried that, left the batteries out from 1:29pm to 1:33pm and ran my fingers across the keys while I waited. I Still get the green "Play/Pause" text when I hit the F-lock botton, and it is still stuck on.  Any other suggestions.

Thank you.

Re: F-lock key is stuck on

Then I would suggest calling us. Or try on another computer, without any software installed.

Re: F-lock key is stuck on

Hi CNCman,

First I would like to thank you for choosing the Logitech keyboard as your desktop unit. From your post, I see that you had an issue with F-lock keys which is not functioning correctly.

May I know whether have you managed to source out any fixes to have it work properly again? Alternatively you may try resetting the receiver.

Please do let me know if the issue still persists so that I could offer further assistance if needed.

Some boards don't have one - which model do you have?

Re: F-lock key is stuck on

I just managed to unlock mine. I pressed the "connect" button on the receiver and then the red "connect" button on the keyboard and I noticed that when I do this the "f-lock" light flashed so I repeated the "connect" procedure but this time I help the F-lock key of the keyboard at the same time that I pressed connect.

All lights flashed kind of randomly but at the end the "f-lock" light stayed off and my keyboard returned to normal function.

p.s. the problem usually appears when i change the batteries (sometimes) and it sometimes it changes by using other batteries.

The just take them out and wait approach didn't help me.
