How to hit "ENTER" when in a bios screen?

[ Edited ]

If I have to hard restart my computer, the message comes up to pick which you want to start with, or press enter, or wait 30 seconds.

How can you do this when WIndows has not booted and there are no Logitech drivers active?

Re: How to hit "ENTER" when in a bios screen?

Could you be a bit more specific?

I assume you're talking about a keyboard.

And the only keyboard type I can think of that would have this problem would be a bluetooth one. The issue isn't in logitech drivers, but in bluetooth drivers. I for example have used Logitech wireless keyboards (classic & unifying) for years now and they do not sport this issue.

Since PC BIOS does not have any bluetooth support and isn't likely to get it any time soon, I can only tell you that getting a bluetooth keyboard as the only keyboard for your desktop is not a good idea.

If I guessed wrong about bluetooth connection, please provide the relevant information.

Sorry I have the MK300 mouse/keyboard combo.  I believe this is not a bluetooth system.

Does this help?

Thanks in advance.

Re: How to hit "ENTER" when in a bios screen?

And you say it doesn't work in BIOS? This is strange.

I have a system which does the same when I overclock it. Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H (790GX chipset). When not overclocked, USB keyboard works just fine. When overclocked, it randomly works or doesn't work, depending on FSB frequency chosen. When this happens, no USB keyboard works. A PS/2 keyboard has no issues though.

Do you overclock your system too? Otherwise I have no idea why your keyboard wouldn't work in BIOS, except if your computer is soooooooo old that it doesn't even support a USB keyboard in BIOS. But that would be really old, around year 2000 motherboard I think.

Some BIOSes have to be configured to use "Legacy USB" or "USB keyboards."  They might not be set up by default.

Also, I just got my 3 year old PC to ve able to use my USB keyboard.  Turns out my USB keyboard "appeared" in the USB "trees" too far up and my other USB devices blocked it at boot up.
