Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

I just bought an Illuminated Keyboard to use on my Vista Ultimate 64-bit computer. I have the latest SetPoint installed, and all works fine - except when I return from "Hybrid Standby" - what used to be called hibernate. I am able to use the keyboard to get it to resume, but then once it has resumed, the keyboard is NOT working. I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to be working.

What can I do to solve this problem?

Thank you,

Cindy K.

I am having the same problem, but I'm running Vista-32.   Any ideas?

Re: Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

I think I may have fixed it.  I had a small self-powered USB2 hub sitting around.   I plugged it in between the keyboard and my system board.   I've been going fine since yesterday.    I'm not sure why it's working, but it is.

Re: Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

So basically you can't plug it into a system board USB port? I have an Intel motherboard. I am plugging mine in the front case port today to see if that makes a difference tonight. It's still a MB USB port, but a different "hub" than the ports on the back of the board. We'll see.

Re: Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

I've got an Intel board as well (DX48BT2), and I already tried both the front (internal connections) and the rear.    You may just need to buy a USB hub.   Newegg has them really cheap ($6), just do a search at www.newegg.com for "USB HUB", then select 0-$10 range.

If anyone from Logitech bothers to read these posts, you may want to try your keyboard on an Intel Bonetrail board and see what the problem is.

Re: Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

That's the exact same board that I have! I hate the idea that I have to use a separate USB hub just for my keyboard! I have so many USB ports provided by the motherboard already! But I also like this keyboard, so I don't really want to return it!

You mean Logitech DOESN'T read these posts? It would be nice to see them figure out what the problem is!

Is the keyboard you are using bluetooth??? i have to wait a good 30 seconds for mine to work after starting up or sleeping. till windows notices and starts up bluetooth.

Also ive noticed a trend among vista users with glowy keyboards. The way the new hibernete works effects alot of hardware particularly mice and keyboards. A friend of mine can not sleep/hibernate his vista 64 bit because of his illuminating keyboard. It wakes itself up because it is drawing power from it. There is some setting in your bios and in windows that should or could fix your problem. its about hibernation and what not. Try different configurations and see what you come up with

Re: Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

Hi, I am running Vista 64 too, and I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same keyboard. I will try what you did and post it if it works. Anyway, it is good you figured it out. Thanks.

Re: Illuminated Keyboard not working after hibernate...

I'm having exactly the same problem.  The interesting thing is that it only started when we replaced our computer (we had a custom-built machine with an MSI mainboard) with an HP Pavillion.  It's driving us crazy to have to unplug and reconnect the keyboard each time we wake the computer up from sleep.  I will give the USB hub trick a try, and see if that solves it.

Hello,

Also I have exactly the same problem:

"Illuminated Keyboard to use on my Vista Ultimate 64-bit computer. I have the latest SetPoint installed, and all works fine - except when I return from "Standby"  I am able to use the keyboard to get it to resume, but then once it has resumed, the keyboard is NOT working. I have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to be working."

I am running with Asus P5Q-Pro motherboard and Vista 64. Has anybody come up with the solution/ fix for this problem....other than a) deactivating keyboard from control panel / device management / power management options or b) unpluging & repluging keyboard?

Cheers
