Keyboards and Keyboard/Mice Combo Sets

Running XP prof with SP3.

Installed Internet 1500 keyboard and mouse easily, but when you log off and log on as a new user, whenever the Setpoint icon appears in the taskbar,  both the mouse and keyboard stop working and the PC has to be reset. 

I updated Setpoint to the latest version and it had the same behavior.  I've stopped Setpoint from running for now and I can switch users just fine.

Any ideas of the cause for this?
