Keyboards and Keyboard/Mice Combo Sets

Am considering using a K270 wireless keyboard on a Western Digital WD TV Live unit and therefore am wondering whether this keyboard would work on that non-Windows device. It works with normal USB keyboards (that don't require drivers).

I have a K400 wireless keyboard (uses the same wireless technology as the K270) and I can vouch that once you pair the keyboard with its unifying receiver (requires a Windows PC) all of the basic keyboard functionality should work with whatever device you connect it to. Granted, functionality that relies on the Windows drivers to work correctly, such as the Media keys, would not be available on non-Windows devices.

Have bought this keyboard today and it does work with my device. However, the pairing was a bit difficult and Logitech's one-page symbolic instructions don't help here. I had one 'Unifying Receiver' already in my laptop for the mouse. With the mouse turned off, I pulled out that receiver and inserted the new one. The keyboard did not work. Even moving the new receiver into another USB port on the laptop did not work. So I plugged the new receiver into another PC. From then on the keyboard worked. After that I moved the receiver to my multimedia device and everything was fine.

That's another wrinkle to add to the mix.

We already knew that if you want to pair a device with a new receiver, you first have to un-pair it from any that its is already connected to.

Now it seems to depend on the PC you use.
