K750 for Mac - Function Keys Don't Map to MAC Function Keys

Hi guys,

I saw a thread that talks about this issue with the Expose key, but my problem is with the Play / Fast Forward / Rewind buttons. On my usual Mac keyboard, these have a very specific function. If I am in iTunes or Spotify, I can hit the FF button to go to the next song, rewind to go to last, etc. WIth the K750, the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons don't even work. Neither does the Expose button or the dashboard button.

Is there a way to fix this? IT IS RIDICULOUS that the function buttons even have the same icons as the normal Mac keyboard, and yet those functions DO NOT WORK.

I am running OSX 10.6.8 and have both the unity software and logitech control center installed, but there seems to be no way to make these keys work properly.

Can someone help? I mean, seriously, if you are going to sell a "for Mac" keyboard, at least the keys ought to work, right? Am I missing something?

-D

Re: K750 for Mac - Function Keys Don't Map to MAC Function Keys

As noted in my post, I have -ALREADY- seen that thread. My issue is not with Expose. Expose and Mission control work fine. My problem is with the Rewind, Play/Pause, and Fast Foward keys. In OSX and with a MAC keyboard, these map onto almost all media playing apps. If you are in iTunes, clicking Fast Forward... you guessed it, FAST FORWARDS etc. If you are in Spotify and you click Rewind, the song you are on Rewinds.

With the K750 for mac, those functions don't work. In -some- apps, the Pause / Play button works, but the fast forward and rewind buttons do not, and I would like them to do so. Is there a fix for this?

Re: K750 for Mac - Function Keys Don't Map to MAC Function Keys

My new K750 for Mac has the same problem too! :smileysad:

The Expose key doesn't work. It works once when I first installed the keyboard, then it didn't work ever since I turned off/on the keyboard. Some guy said installing the Logitech Control Center solves the problem. It worked after the 1st install, then it won't work anymore (I didn't turn off/on the keyboard this time).

I saw that thread provided by Logitech too. It only worked the first time. Now my Expose key either don't work or it works like a "home" button (scrolls up to the top of the page).

I emailed Logitech, no replies. Customer Service doesn't exists.

I'm so dissapointed at this purchase.

Logitech always failed me when I tried to use them with my macbook.

Past mouses I got all got jumping/sticking issues. Now the keyboard. Time to move to another brand.

Go read the installation instructions.  Open System Preferences, and then the Logitech Control Center.  Click on the keyboard icon, and see what you've checked for choosing between the two options for the function keys.  And check your keyboard preferences in System Preferences, where you may have checked an option for the same function keys.  Mine works fine in Snow Leopard.

Re: K750 for Mac - Function Keys Don't Map to MAC Function Keys

I played with the settings under the Logitech Control panel and the keyboard settings in System prefs and the most I was able to accomplish is assigning a shortcut to the Spotify setting in System prefs and it only works when I'm IN Spotify. That is useless since at that point I can just manually forward it the "normal" way. And it seems to only work intermittently, at that.

Like the original poster, I have no issues with the play/stop, volume, etc. Just the advance and rewind keys...which are the most useful to me!

Bumping this as it's ridiculous that these keys don't work yet all the other music control ones do! If there's no fix I'm going to return it as I use those two keys all the time!

[ Edited ]

Yeah, this is quite a set back that these don't work. I expected a keyboard advertised as being as mac keyboard would work the same as Apple's keyboard. This needs to be fixed immediately.

I agree, this is a NEARLY perfect keyboard but the Previous/Next buttons don't work!
