LX 700 Vista Random Key Issue!

So I've just loaded Vista home premium on my pc.  Every now and then, more often than not, as I am typing, random letters just show up for no reason at all, its happening right now as i am typing this.  It is very annoying to say the least.  I love visa and don't want to revert back to windows xp, so is there a solution to this? i've tried the patch and it did not solve this issue, only the control shift issue.  I am running vista, newest setpoint driver, the update patch.  Thanks

Hi pyroz  :smileyhappy:

Have you tried it without the SetPoint software and please refer to this link for more information on embedded mode. I would also suggest that you test this device on another computer if available to determine whether the problem is related to the system or the device itself.

Re: LX 700 Vista Random Key Issue!

This is a real problem, substantiated by many people. You are NOT having a hardware issue. If you go back to SetPoint 3.1, the random keys will stop, but then you will lose some functionality of the keyboard, like volume control and the application flip feature of Vista.

Re: LX 700 Vista Random Key Issue!

i tried that too, did not work, i still get the jumping keys and random key after i tried everything, by putting my keyboard in F Mode solves it but that renders my F keys useless. Should I call logitech and have my keyboard replaced with something else?

Hi,

You could also try to drain the capacitors of the keyboard. To do this, take the batteries out and type randomly on the keyboard for about 2 minutes or so.

yup, tried it on my brothers computer and still exists, looks like its setpoint 3.30 is the problem.

So many people are having this issue, myself included. Why can't logitech just post this in a FAQ sticky or something, along with a solution? Do you know how annoying it is to run around playing CS and constantly dropping your weapon just when you get into a firefight?

Re: LX 700 Vista Random Key Issue!

I am running Windows XP and have the latest version of SetPoint. I too experience the random key issue with my LX 700. Random letters show up when I start about 35+ wpm or faster; taking me considerably longer to complete my tasks.

A patch to this software issue sure would be great Logitech!
