Logitech Failing on providing quote for bluetooth dongle

[ Edited ]

I've had an open ticket with Logitech support open since 02/03/2009 trying to organise a warranty replacement on my DiNovo media desktop laser as keys have come off.

I've misplaced the bluetooth receiver, and found out that to do the warranty replacement I need it.  I've been asking Logitech for a quote to order a replacement bluetooth dongle for the set since that date, and they have failed to provide one.

I'm posting here to hopefully either a: be able to purchase one from another user, or b: spur logitech into actually getting me a quote and getting me the replacement dongle so I can finally get the keyboard and number pad fixed to get this issue resolved.

Re: Logitech Failing on providing quote for bluetooth dongle

Hi Joe Howe :

     Saw your post ; I had the USB receiver fail on my diNovo Media Desktop Laser after about 2-2 1/2 years - I let Logitech know my situation - I was prepared to buy a replacement ( $ 10 US ) ; but this is one of their elite products and I was told that there is a five year warranty and so they shipped me a replacement unit. It did take almost a month to receive it ; but I'm in Canada and the part came from the States.

   The part seems to be only available from the US store and doesn`t give a Canadian delivery option. On the US site the part is listed as :     Receiver  993-000162 , Receiver for diNovo Media Desktop Laser
   The part number on the bottom of the keyboard is 820-000174, 867610 or 867615. P/N 993-000162  USD10.00  This is the site address :

                                    ((        http://www.buylogitech.com/store/logius/en_US/DisplayCategoryProductListPage/categoryid.11198700?WT.ac=sc|downloads||dd      ))

    Perhaps you could start with a request for the USB receiver replacement and then go from there ; however I think that the excuse for not replacing the missing keys is lame. You could request to speak with a supervisor - perhaps you could say that you lost your receiver at which point you made due with a 3rd party BlueTooth USB receiver . Then you started loosing keys and so you`figured it`s time to get an overhaul done and bring your Media Desktop back to working spec.

    I hope you see this as they have removed your personal information ; if so let me know how you made out - I checked `e-mail me when someone replies` , so I`ll know if you do . Good Luck & Take Care.

                                                                                                                                          David Miller

I love how they remove personal information of mine to protect my privacy when I posted it myself... it's my privacy to be concerned about!

Thanks heaps for the part number :smileyhappy:  I've just managed to acquire a replacement from Ebay, so I'll get that, claim warranty, then hopefully never have to deal with the appalling Logitech customer service EVER AGAIN!

Considering this is one of their premiere products, the support I've received for it has been pathetic.  Unfortunately before going through this nightmare I'd already purchased an MX air, and a G15.  Hopefully they don't break as I don't ever want to go through this again.

Thanks again Laterun, Goodbyte logitech.
