Re: MK710 Combo: Mouse Working but keyboard not

well I have tried your suggestions, even with a new battery, what I see when I turn it on,

- battery meter circulates from 1 bar, 2 bars, 3 bars, then starts again

- after a few mins of circulating through the bars, it stops at 2 bars and thats it

- I am still getting no response from the keyboard, however the mouse still works

any other suggestions or a new keyboard is on the cards?

Re: MK710 Combo: Mouse Working but keyboard not

I too have just encountered this problem, keyboard is about a month old. The battery icon is animated like charging. Ofcourse there is no real charging in this case. How do we solve the problem? RMA? I have tried unifying software and changed batteries but to no avail.

Please help

Re: MK710 Combo: Mouse Working but keyboard not

I am having the same issue with a pair of Waves our info below.  What I might ask of everyone if you could please let us all know what OS you are having the issue with.  So far everyone I have talked to with keyboard connectivity issues has had Win7 64-bit.  From what I can tell there may be a driver issue on the 64-bit OSs specificly.  Both keyboards worked fine for years on our XP boxes, and still do.  However we try to use them with our new built machines running win7 64-bit and we have crazy connectivity issues.  I want to draw more attention because I think there is a much bigger issue afoot that keeps getting buried everytime someone starts a new thread but same issue.

Things I`ve tried.  (Yes dani I poached your post :smileywink:

- Unplugging the receiver and pluggin it back into the USB socket (also on a different one)

- The USB receiver is connected to port 1 (not through a HUB)

- The computer and the keyboard are both on the same level.(on my desk)

- Tried re-securing the keyboard with the set-point software (it works for a short period of time or until i unplug the receiver)

- Tried removing the batteries and typing on the keyboard for 30 seconds and reinserting the batteries.

- Tried brand new batteries.

Also here's my keyboard info:

Re: MK710 Combo: Mouse Working but keyboard not

Hello Samhorns,

M/N : Y-RCP140  (Cordless Desktop® Wave™) http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9278

P/N : 820-000396

(wife's)

M/N : Y-RBN90 (Logitech® Wireless Wave Combo) This one is a Unifying enabled device.

P/N : 820-001633

M/N : Y-RCP140  (Cordless Desktop® Wave™)

P/N : 820-000399

Is this issue is happening after the computers have been in a sleep or suspend mode or does it happen after a cold boot?

The drivers used for all of the desk top sets above are provided by the operating system. I suspect that the power management settings are lowering the power sent to the USB.

Disable theUSB selective suspend option. To do this, follow these steps:

1. ClickStart, type power options in the Start Search box, and then clickPower Options in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator
password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
2. Under the selected power plan, click Change plan settings.
3. Click Change advanced power settings.
4. In the Power Options dialog box, expand USB settings, and then expandUSB selective suspend setting.
6. If you want to disable Windows 7 to turn off the USB root hub click Disabled in thePlugged in list, and then click OK

If that does not help, then I would suggest you to create a new power plan and check if it fixes the problem.

Refer these links for help:

If the issue persists, please contact Logitech Customer Care for your region.

Nothing works - this seems to be a common defect which afflicts this item

Re: MK710 Combo: Mouse Working but keyboard not

i had the same problem with mine a while back.
if i remember right, i was reinstalling all my programs and had to reinstall the logitech software.
the keyboard wasn't recognised when i plugged it in, so i removed the receiver from the extension/stand and plugged into a completely different usb port and rebooted and reinstalled the set point.

i'm 95% certain that's all i had to do.
