MX 5000 will not reconnect after Windows XP Login

I can use the MX5000 mouse and keyboard to log in to my Windows XP computer, but once Windows takes over the mouse and keyboard no longer function, nor will the Bluetooth Connection Assistant find the devices.  The Bluetooth transmitter and receiver are obvously funtioning outside of Windows or I could not login.  Any ideas who to solve this problem?

Re: MX 5000 will not reconnect after Windows XP Login

I have unistalled and reinstalled SetPoint 4.80.103 and driver 4.82.11 and the same problem remains.  I have successfully been using the keyboard/mouse combo for several years with minimal problems...until now!  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Re: MX 5000 will not reconnect after Windows XP Login

Uninstalled and reinstalled SetPoint 4.8 again.  Then removed and reinserted the Bluetooth radio from/into the USB port several times until everything finally reconnected.  The SetPoint Bluetooth Connection Assistant seems to just hang at 49% complete.  After rebooting the computer the same thing happened and by removing and reinserting the Bluetooth radio into the USB port the KB and M again reconnected.  Any ideas?  Bad BT radio?

Re: MX 5000 will not reconnect after Windows XP Login

Purchased and installed a generic USB Bluetooth adapter (RocketFish).  SetPoint could not locate it so I used Bluetooth manager to reconnect keyboard and mouse which are now functioning without any problem.  I was unseccessful in getting SetPoint to recognize the Bluetooth adapter, keyboard, and mouse.  Decided to remove SetPoint program from cumputer as I believe it was likely doing more harm than good.

Re: MX 5000 will not reconnect after Windows XP Login

I had the same exact problem. I had apparently deleted something to do with the bluetooth software at some point in time, so I re-downloaded the bluetooth software and WIDCOMM stacks from the following site, http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php , and within 5 min (including) reboot I was connected with both keyboard and mouse, even after login. My next step was a receiver, but I'm poor so my MX5000 was bout ready to go in the closet 'til i found that website!
