MX 5500 Mouse Volume not working

[ Edited ]

For some reason the volume control on my MX revolution mouse keeps going out.  I usually use the thumb wheel to adjust and mute the volume.  The volume control on the keyboard works fine, and all the other settings (including custom settings) on the mouse work fine.  I've tried reinstalling setpoint but that didn't help either.  Any ideas?

Not sure if this matters, but in the setpoint settings, it says "MX Revolution Mouse", but the image just shows a generic mouse.  It lists 9 different buttons, which is correct, but I thought I remembered the actual mouse being shown as the image with the numbers actually pointing to the proper buttons.  Am I imagining that?

One more edit.....I only use the MX 5500 setup at work in a dock.  When I'm not in the dock, I use an Anywhere MX with a unifying receiver (and the unifying receiver is always plugged into the laptop, even when i'm docked).  The Anywhere MX is turned off though, so it shouldn't be interfering. But maybe that's causing it?  I've been using this setup forever though, and this just started happening.

Any chance one of the mods could weigh in on this?  It's frustrating.
