MX 5500 - up-to-date setpoint

I've tried on both XP and windows Vista, 32 and 64 bit for both, can I can confirm with 100% accuracy that the bluetooth hub is cause about a 5 second network 'lag' once every 5 minutes or so.  It completely halts all network traffic, which make any gaming extremely irritating.  It does not do this with a wired setup, and as stated, OS isn't a factor.  I have no built in bluetooth, and run ONLY the mouse and keyboard off the hub.  

The network is wireless ABGN, and at the moment, I have the Vista 64bit setup.

How do I stop the re-occuring lag short of throwing these peripherals in the trash
