Keyboards and Keyboard/Mice Combo Sets

I have the same issue: When I send Win7 x64 SP1 to sleep after Windows resumes there is no keyboard nor functionallity.

Unplugging the bluetooth sender, replugging it to a different USB port reconnecting mouse and keyboard helps. But this is a cumbersome workaround.

I there any user around where the MX5500 works after a reconnecting from sleep?

Logitech support doesn't want to help me offering alibi solutions like

Ask the board manufactor to solve the problem

Uninstall all Logitech SW

Reinstall Win7

Purchase a new PC

And so on

**bleep** it, right now I also started getting this problem.

After a resume from hibernation mouse and keyboard won't work for about halfaminute or so....

This issue may occur if one or more of the following conditions are true:

• The Basic Input/output System (BIOS) system that is installed on the computer reduces power to the port to which the input device is connected.
  
  Note You may be unable to use Bluetooth devices to resume operation from certain power management states (such as "suspend" or "hibernate"). In some low-power states, the wireless receiver may be unable to receive information from the Bluetooth devices.
• You are using a portable or notebook computer that does not allow resume by using a Bluetooth device. If you are   having problems waking a laptop by using a Bluetooth device.
• The Keyboard item in Control Panel is not configured to wake the computer when you press a key on the keyboard.
• Your computer may have encountered a system problem.
• The Sleep key on your keyboard is configured incorrectly.

Verify that your device is allowed to wake the computer

To resolve this issue , follow these steps:

1. Open the Keyboard control panel item.
2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Change Settings button
   
   Note This step requires Administrator access
4. Click the Power Management tab, and then verify that the Allow this device to wake the computer is enabled.
5. Click OK, and then click OK again.

Note If your computer does not support Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), the earlier steps may not be available. In this case, you have press the power button to wake the computer. If you cannot resume computer operation by using any of these methods, you may have experienced a system problem.

I find it hard to believe that nobody within Logitech is smart enough to figure this out.  I find it easier to believe someone or some group within the organization is hoping the problem will just go away.  Try searching for the exact topic of this thread and you get "Sorry, your search yielded no matching results."  Bull hockery!

Nothing suggested by any Logitech responder to date in this thread is pertinent.  The problem has been clearly described: the computer is brought out of the sleep state with a mouse or keyboard stroke so the USB receiver clearly has power at the time, but once the computer has resumed, the USB receiver randomly disconnects for some resumes and not others.  Disabling the USB selective suspend within the active (or all) Windows 7 power plan does not solve the problem.  It seems that the longer the computer is in the sleep state, the more likely it is that the USB receiver will disconnect upon resuming.

I have witnessed this behavior on at least four different computers with nothing in common other than having their own MX 5500 combo set and running Win 7 x64 so I have a hard time believing anyone who wants to blame the other hardware or the OS installation.

The keyboard and mouse work perfectly (for me at least) at all other times, so it would be great to solve this one problem and prevent me from becoming a "no more Logitech" person.

Same problem as well here. Brand new Dell XPS 8300 with windows 7. I have noticed when I shut down the PC and then later start it up the MX5500 Keyboard and Mouse stay connected. Only when the PC is put to sleep does the keyboard and mouse lose connection. It is very annoying to have to re-connect manually everytime.

Why does the keyboard and mouse stay connected when PC is shut down but not when it is put to sleep and awaken?

Can someone from Logitech please answer this and fix the problem?

Anyone else know how to fix this?

p.s.  the  "allow this device to wake computer"  is checked in the keyboard control panel on my pc.

I also have a Dell as some of the others report here. Logitech support is probably correct in that it is related to (Dell) third party software. Never tried the clean boot thing to verify.

I have the same problem. It came suddenly - not directly after installation of Win7 64 bit. Logitech support has send a new bluetoothadapter - but no changes.

LOGITECH - We need a solution. It's a big problem, to connect mouse and keyboard manually every day for some times.

I'm having the exact same problem.

I'm guessing there's alot of users with this problem that aren't going to bother jumping through the hoops to create an account like I had to, just to put my hand up and say, yes this is a problem.

Have just discovered that waking my computer with either the mouse or keyboard causes them both to disconnect, however waking my computer by pressing the power button on the computer tower (Dell Studio XPS) wakes my computer with the mouse and keyboard still connected.

I know this isn't a solution to the problem, but hope it may prevent some users having to reconnect both devices every time.

OK...Come on Logitech....I spent over 2 bills for this combo and I am tired of having to re-connect every time I move the mouse. I understand I can awake the computer and stay connected by pushing the power button but I would like the mouse/keyboard movement to awake the computer and stay connected as well. Always liked Logitech devices before but now I am a little dissapointed.

Please post a link below for a fix to this problem.....Thank you!
