My keyboard had been cutting in and out on me repeatedly. I tried moving the receiver, changed batteries, removed any possible signal interference, etc. I decided to reinstall the driver.
On Windows 7, I went Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager
Under Device Manager, I went to the Keyboards section, expanded, then right-clicked on the keyboard listed, and clicked uninstall.
I then scanned for new hardware changes (under Action tab at the top), and it did not detect any (or automatically installed the driver again, since one is currently listed under keyboard).
So far everything is working great, hopefully it will continue to do so, I'll keep you posted.

The same thing happens to me eversince I bought the mouse.
I don't use the keyborad. I just wanted to be able to use a mouse without any extra dongle stuff to carry with me. And I love the revolution mx mouse!
Win7 x64 (8 GB RAM)
Dell Precision m4500
Dell bluetooth 375 internal adapter (latest driver from MS update; latest dell driver is older!)
Every 1-2 hours the mouse just dies. I have to turn it off, wait for 5 - 10 secs and then turn it on again. Very anoying.
As far as I can see it seems to happen when
there is a quick move with the mouse over the taskbar and a click to select another window, resulting into aero activities. Then somehow the click-event goes to "nirvana" and the mouse does not respond anymore.
I don't have any interference nearby.
Btw: it happens using the latest setpoint software.

Hello maex,
I'm wondering if you have checked your power management settings for your mouse. You would want to remove the check from the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

To clarify the support response, he means you need to go to whichever item in your device manager controls the connection to the mouse (the proper USB port for the dongle, or the bluetooth card for those with internal bluetooth) and go to properties > Power Management and disable to option to allow the computer to turn off the device. This is what causes dead periods with the mouse, and so far appears to have worked for me.

I'm having the same problem with my MK300 combo set. I just checked those settings and that box was not checked to allow the computer to turn off the mouse or keyboard to save power. Still having the disconnect problem.
Anyone from Logitech care to chime in here with a real answer?

This product is great out of the box - but a HUGE waste of money in the long run.
The MX550 mouse (and keyboard combo) is NOTORIOUS for its battery/disconnection issues - many, like myself, had to apply the "tweak" just to fool this thing into working past the 1yr mark.
I personally know three people who have this same mouse/combo...all three keep theirs in a junk drawer - far too issue ridden to actually use (or broken altogether) and much too expensive to simply throw away.
My M-RCL124 died three times during the posting of this comment - no interference, not a driver issue, not power management - the light on the mouse goes out. The things just quits.
You'll likely notice that the light indicating movement/charging is non-responsive too - this means it's dead.
(If you're lucky there's a plethora of DIYs on YT for several of the issues - good luck)
I saved for months to buy this combo - I personally want to thank Logitech for providing such a perfect example of a corporation caring only for sales and not at all for customer satisfaction.
I will not make this mistake again.

I to have the same issue...
I did notice that if you hit Control+ALT+Delete then "Escape" to get out of the log on screen the mouse then works.

Hi Maex
I have same problem! I have fixed it by Unchecking automatic Free Spin.
Logitech Replaced the whole kit for me and it did not fix the problem. The only way I found the fix is to disable the Application Specific Wheel Settings.
