MX5500 mouse settings not "sticking" on win7 x64

I am having troubles with the MX5500 mouse settings for the scroll wheel. I just reinstalled the latest setpoint.

Control Center version: 6.20.50

Driver Version: 5.20.51

My troubles seem to be in the scroll wheel settings.

On the SmartShift settings I have "Auto-shift to free-spin when speed is:" set to slow. I also do not have "enable application-specific wheel settings" checked.

When I click Apply, everything works properly. I go to outlook and can quickly scroll through my inbox emails. I then click over to a firefox window and can scroll down a page quickly.

Once I click back into outlook, the wheel becomes sluggish and then clicking back to firefox it too becomes sluggish.

If I go back into setpoint and just hit apply again everything works properly, until I go from one application to another.

This mouse and keyboard worked perfectly in XP so i believe this problem is related to the windows 7 x64 drivers.

How can I resolve this?

Re: MX5500 mouse settings not "sticking" on win7 x64

I have been doing more testing and the problem appears to be tied to the number of scroll lines.

If I open Setpoint and simply press Apply, then go to either outlook or a windows exploring window my settings work properly, scrolling 3 lines for each "click" on the scroll wheel. As soon as I go to either firefox or Internet Explorer then click back to either outlook or the exploring window, the "click" scroll takes up to 10 clicks to move 3 lines.

If I go back into Setpoint don't change any settings and go directly to either outlook or exploring it works properly. But as soon as I go into a web browser it appears to stop working.

I need this fixed!

Any ideas????
