I constantly get a message "Setpoint Event Manager (UNICODE) has stopped working" after about 15 minutes from computer boot up. I can only CLOSE PROGRAM, then my MX5000 keyboard and mouse don't work. If I start the Mouse and Keyboard Settings from the Start menu, it works again for a while then same problem (length of time varies).
I am running Windows Vista 64-bit, Setpoint version 4.80. This is a clean install on a new hard drive. Does anyone have the same problem or a solution as to why it keeps stop working? Thanks.

I get htis problem when starting up. It crashes as it loads on startup, and it requires me to wait a bit before I can start it up manually. I'm not running any other mouse drivers, and I have tried reinstalling many times.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit with setpoint 4.80 with a MX Revolution.

I have repeatedly been in contact with Logitech support and get the run-around. They have told me to uninstall, reinstall and it does nothing. They apparently don't want to assist the customer, just hope that you will eventually forget about it and move on. My opinion is that Logitech has great products, but the worst technical support since they don't help but just avoid the issue you want help with. I have been dealing with this for over 2 weeks and have gotten no assistance from tech support (supposedly level 3 and higher). If I finally do get this resolved, I will post the results.

I get the exact same problem you get with Windows 7 64bit, (UNICODE) has stopped working, over and over and over. So I took set point out heck with it.

I have had this problem since installing the x64 version of Vista a few years ago. No solution has been forthcoming from Logitech despite new versions that are supposedly designed for 64-bit versions of Windows. I, too, have now uninstalled SetPoint and will likely find a different desktop vendor when I replace this set.
I think we need to face the fact that corporations no longer exist for their customers. The customers exist for the corporations - at least as long as we continue to allow it.

I constantly have the same issue on Windows 7 64bit. Setpoint event manager will just randomly crash, so none of my setpoint shortcuts or button functions work anymore. I have to manually restart setpoint to get it to work again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times. THIS IS A PROBLEM PLEASE FIX IT LOGITECH!

Reading all the posts, and for as long as it has gone on, I would have thought Logitech would have some input by this time..
I too have issues with the unicode error while trying to run setpoint. The big difference I see between others and my issue is that I am running win7 in 32 bit mode. Once it crashes, I loose all my custom settings.... but I think you knew that.

I think i have some sort of solution. the site recommends using a version 4.6 version of setpoint for some of the bluetooth equipment. after some searching i was able to find a version 6.2 version of setpoint. after the installation on Windows 7 64bit it seems to have started to work. some of the options dont work, but most do.
Hope this helps.

This is seriously making me reconsider using Logitech products ever again and I've actually loved their products and chosen the mice because they fit my hands better. I have Corded Mouse M500 and took me hours and a couple days frustration getting everything working properly with games and browsing, especially the games as I also play SWTOR. So not using Setpoint is not really a viable solution for me if I want to continue using this mouse since the games don't recognize the extra buttons or even the middle button without Setpoint running properly. I have only owned the mouse for 4 days and might have to hope I can get store credit or something if this problem can't be fixed. I'm regretting not purchasing the Microsoft mouse instead now and glad I chose a microsoft keyboard since it works fine. I was having problems with my wireless combo working so recently switched from Logitech wireless wave keyboard and mouse combo and needed a wired solution that didn't break the bank account.
I am trying Logitech's suggestion of uninstall & reinstalling but with low hopes as I see some say that didn't help them. Unfortunately I have to run setpoint in admin mode for SWTOR to see it properly, so I'm not sure what other options I have is reinstalling doesn't work. It's rather frustrating because I can't even get setpoint to load manually when this crashes so I have no control over my mouse buttons at all. Which is the main reason I bought the mouse, otherwise I would have setttled for a much cheaper basic mouse if I didn't want to be able to use side buttons.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit and using the latest setpoint 6.32 that comes up for the M500 mouse in downloads. Since the mouse didn't even come with software I have to download something to be able to get full functionality.

Even after uninstalling and reinstalling, Setpoint still loads without any mouse tab so I can't control my mouse buttons. I don't understand why the program just decided to stop working today and it's incredibly frustrating since I have spent so much time getting the stupid thing to even work as I want with my gaming programs. I'm really at a loss here and may have to put logitech on the do not buy list if setpoint is really this useless now. Such a shame. I wish I'd researched this more now but now I may be out about $50 which may not seem like much but it is to me.
win7 64, setpoint 6.3, corded mouse m500
