Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

I wanted to be sure my keyboard cover isn't a dud... Is the keyboard supposed to clasp closed with a magnet to stay closed? It currently doesn't. Of course the clasp where the smartcover hinge is located works fine. But as it is now, the keyboard flips down easily because nothing is holding it closed on the other side (front side of the keyboard).

Same issue here. I'd be interested to hear the answer from the Logitech folks. The product is fantastic, but I was under the impression that the cover was supposed to "lock" closed when folded. Thanks.

Re: Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

My Ultrathin cover worked fine for a few days, i.e. the cover snapped shut and kept closed at the front end. Yesterday, however, it suddenly flipped open and won't stay shut. I cannot figure out why.

Is this a common problem?

Would someone from Logitech please respond.

Thanks

Re: Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

My cover used to stay shtut as well but it just stopped doing that. Is this a magnet on the edge coming out of alignment or is it getting demagnetized? Would love to hear from someone at LT about this.

Otherwise this is a marvel of engineering of a keyboard.

Re: Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

I just bought mine from Best Buy and have the same issue.  It never has stayed closed at all for me.  Thinking I should take it back for a replacement at Best Buy but wanted to find out how it's "supposed" to work.

Re: Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

Got official word from Logitech support saying: "It is supposed to clasp together". So, I'll look to make an exchange at Best Buy in hopes of getting a funtional unit.

I bought mine directly from Logitech.  Should I be sending it back to them?

I would contact their support and I suspect they will do some type of RMA/exchange on yours.

Re: Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

I realize this thread is dated, but I found it when two of my keyboard covers (purchased a month apart) recently experienced the same non-closing issue within a few days of each other, after several weeks of flawless performance and I wanted to pass along my experience.

Kudos to Logitech support.  I called them to explain the situation and they confirmed that the failure of the covers to stay closed was a malfunction.  Even though I had purchased the covers at a local retail store, they quickly offered to spare me another trip to the store by sending me a prepaid shipping label that I can use to return both keyboards for replacement.

Well done Logitech.

Re: Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for iPad closing question

I just purchased the ultrathin keyboard cover from Best Buy.   So is the cover really supposed to stick to the front of the ipad when the cover is closed?

The one I purchased from does not.  I was thinking about returning it, but might exchange it instead if it is just defective.  I don't want to worry if the screen of my ipad will get messed up in my bag.
