Very disappointed with MX5500!

I have recently bought a Logitech MX5500 combo set. The main reason to do so was the MX Revolution mouse which is part of the bundle.

I'm sorry to admit that i'm extremely disappointed with it. At first, the problem was the wheel middle-click button. It was just too quirky. When pressing it, it felt like going through 3 phases of clicks deep into the mouse until the mouse recognized the middle click. It was just aweful.

Realizing that the mouse is defective, I replaced the whole set on the next day. After a week of waiting for the new one to arrive, I have noticed that the new mouse wheel's click-to-click mode is way too loose. It was almost like the free-spin mode. As it is just impossible to use, I have decided to return the whole set in exchange for the money.

I think it's just outrageous that a product that costs 190$ (here in Israel) fails this way. I will now think twice before purchasing any Logitech products, as it seems that the quality is not the same as it used to be (my MX700 mouse was awesome!).

Yours, Rom.

Re: Very disappointed with MX5500!

Wow!  That really **bleep**!  I have had issues with the mouse as well, but it seems to be related to how it interfaces with certain programs.  Pretty much all of my programs it works fine with, as far as scrolling goes, but if I open an Adobe .pdf file it will occasionally go into "Free Spin" of it's own accord.  It's really annoying and there are setting in SetPoint that will allow you to change the scrolling profile on the mouse.  I'm not sure if you had checked that before returning it.  All in all, it's a decent mouse, the keyboard on the other hand.....

This is not a software issue. Believe me, I checked it like 100 times.
