Wear on G15 keyboard

[ Edited ]
Hi, I have just read a couple posts on this problem, the paint-wear. I am having this problem as well. My question
is, is this an issue with just the older keyboards? Also, if I call support about it, what information do I need on-hand?
Lastly, where would I find the number for support?

Edit:

Just contacted Logitech, for those of you whom may wonder:

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/utilities/contact/US/EN

That page lists the contact information. If you have an old-style G-15 which wears, I would highly suggest contacting
them. In only 15 minutes, I have been helped, and my new keyboard is on the way. The information you will need is
simply the numbers that came on the back. The two etched on the board itself, and the one on the sticker, that is:
P/N
PID
and
Model name

I think this message should be sticked because it will help others with the keyboard wear problem .  Any forum admin reading this please stickie this.
A confused caller to IBM was having troubles printing documents. He told the technician that the computer had said it "couldn't find printer." The user has also tried turning the computer screen to face the printer but that his computer still couldn't "see" the printer.

Re: Wear on G15 keyboard

Hi VisualCode,

First I would like to thank you for choosing the G15 as your desktop unit. From your post, I see that you had a question with the keyboard keys fading issue.

At the initial stage there were some units which had this issue. Along the way, with feedbacks form users, Logitech has rectified the issue and the newer batch does not have this issue anymore. If you had face this issue, please contact our Helpline or refer to our Online support for a replacement.

Please do let me know if the issue still persists so that I could offer further assistance if needed.

Re: Wear on G15 keyboard

I had the same problem, but with a different keyboard.  Logitech was very helpful and replaced the keyboard graciously with few questions.

Thanks, Logitech!

Re: Wear on G15 keyboard

I too have some wear, but AROUND the arrow and space keys. Also the blue backlight on the right side is dim.

Too bad my keyboard just went out of warranty a couple of months ago. Looks like all keyboards

EXCEPT for the G15 have warrantees more than 1 year.:smileysad:

Hi:smileyhappy:,

Technically, its more the other way around; all gaming devices have a warranty period of one year except for the mice (those have a 3 year warranty). It wouldn't hurt to try contacting Customer Support anyway. We might still be able to help you in some fashion.

Re: Wear on G15 keyboard

My keyboard numbers are totally worn off on the most used keys. It's out of warranty. What kind of help can I get. I have called Logitech and support just says, out of warranty, sorry. Well, that tells me alot about the company.

So, is there any real help for a company's screw-up?

Doesn't appear so-- I'm in the same boat and am going through the "sorry, can't help" phase of my support request.

Re: Wear on G15 keyboard

Hi - You could try stick-on replacement stickers - just do a search on eBay for 'keyboard sticker'... MW
