Wireless Combo MK520 does not work in Windows 8.1

Hello,

I just bought the Wireless Combo MK520 (K520 keyboard / M310 mouse) but they don't work in Windows 8.1 even after installing the latest drivers from the Logitech website. Not work means the drivers install fine but the mouse/keyboard could just as well be not connected, no input is seen from either. I have tried rebooting / swapping the unified receiver to another USB port to no avail. Status lights of mouse/keyboard indicate they are switched on and batteries are ok.

Is this reproducible? If so, will an updated driver that works with Windows 8.1 be available soon or should I try to get a refund?

Thanks!

Re: Wireless Combo MK520 does not work in Windows 8.1

Hello WvH,

The Wireless Combo MK520 is a plug-and-play product, it works using your computer's Operating System native drivers.

In order to try to fix this functionally problem, please check out the following FAQ:

My MK520 keyboard and mouse are not working

If this problem persists, please test the combo with a different computer.

I hope this information helps.

This is not working for me either.

When downloading the unifying software it said it is not compatipble with 8.1.

Where is the 8.1 unifying software. I only see 8 and it gives the warning before installing.

Hello bnospam,

Since Windows 8.1 was just released, we don't have a Unifying Software version compatible with this Operating System yet.  I'll be sure to reply once this is available.

Re: Wireless Combo MK520 does not work in Windows 8.1

How long has Microsoft been offering beta versions of Windows 8.1? Six months? Longer?

I can understand waiting for the final release before putting out something to work with it, but Logitech, and other software houses, seem to be amazingly slow at taking advantage of the beta cycle. Perhaps because, if the stuff that turns up here is anything to go by, they don't beta test their own software.

Then again, I won't go anywhere near 8.1 until these bugs are squished.

Re: Wireless Combo MK520 does not work in Windows 8.1

I'm having the same problems with the MK520 and with the Performance MX I bought to replace it.  I've had several responses ranging from "your display driver isn't up to date" (it is, I had to update when I upgraded to 8.1 because the upgrade breaks IE), to "there are seveal problems with your computer" (but absolutely no information about what those problems might be) and finally, today, I get "sorry, we don't support 8.1 because it's got a new kernel".

I asked whether and when you will be supporting 8.1 and am told you cannot give any information.  No attempt to engage with, just hang me out to dry.

I mean seriously, 8.1 isn't news and it can't have come as a surprise to you, it was touted for months and it's not like pre-release betas weren't freely available.

You mean you actually got a response from Logitech? I'm envious. No one else has reported any feedback.

The public preview of Windows 8.1 started last June. It was officially released in October.

It will soon be six months, and still no sign of anything from Logitech.

Re: Wireless Combo MK520 does not work in Windows 8.1

I'm also experiencing a problem with Windows 8.1 Pro and the Logitech M310t Mouse that was included in the Logitech Wireless Combo mk520r I purchased.

The mouse is constantly not useable requiring use of the Dell Mouse Pad.

Also this hyperlink, in a Logitech post above, is no longer working.

My MK520 keyboard and mouse are not working

I find this peculiar, as I've never had a problem with a Logitech product in the past.

Is there a better Logitech Wireless Combo for Windows 8.1?
