I have just installed a bran new K750 on a Windows system running Vista. The keyboard seems to be working just fine (I'm using it to type this note.) I have installed the "Solar App" and apparently have plenty of stored power. The key backlights, however, do not illuminate. Am I failing to do something? What should I do?

Hello geraldvg,
The K750 does not have illuminated keys. Please see images http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/d

Not the answer I wanted to hear, but it does explain the problem. I should have compared the box to the shelf display at BestBuy more carefully.
Thanks for the prompt reply.

If the buttons that are not a part of the QWERTY keyboard are working, try this:
Go in to a section on your screen that accepts text. Hold a key down for several seconds and see if a character appears (time may vary, but within 30 seconds max).
If a character does appear, you need to go in to your accessibility options under control panel and modify your keyboard options to turn off "Filter Keys." Basically, what happened is you unintentionally held down a key, likely the shift key, for some duration (probably about 10 seconds), which by default, will turn on key filtering.
This is why your custom keyboard's buttons work and your keys do not. Irritating, isn't it?
Logitech, feel free to send me some free gear for my efforts resolving this long open problem.

Filter keys didn't fix anything
I'm having the same problem with my K520. I'm running WIndows 7. When I boot up my computer, most of the time I cannot type in my password unless I restart the computer several times, unplug the receiver and plug it in to a different receiver, or use the on-screen keyboard to uninstall SetPoint and restart. The keyboard is communicating with the receiver because the sleep mode button works from the boot screen, it is just the letters and numbers that don't work.
I've tried every resolution on this board and none of them work. I would leave SetPoint uninstalled but then I wouldn't be able to use all of the buttons. (The reason I bought the **bleep** thing)
This is highly irritating, when I boot my computer I want to be able to login to the computer the FIRST TIME.
I just upgraded to the latest version of SetPoint hoping it would be fixed to no avail. This NEEDS to be fixed or I'm never buying or recommending one of your products again.

Hello bman121212,
Is this issue happening from a cold boot ? (booting from powering on) Are you using the receiver extender ? If you are using an external USB hub or pass through device please disable them for trouble shooting and plug the receiver directly into the computer . You could also try removing the batteries and with the batteries removed type on the keyboard trying to touch all of the keys , replace the battery and test the keyboard. Does the mouse work as intended ?
Best Regards,

The issue occurs on a cold boot.
No i'm not using the receiver extender, an external USB hub or anything else. It is plugged directly into the computer, on the back. I tried removing the batteries and it doens't help because the keyboard responds to keys like Fn+F11 to put the computer to sleep which means the keyboard is establishing some kind of connection, you just can't type with letters.
I'm not using the wireless mouse.
The only way I can get it to work is to unplug the USB adapter and plug it back in and wait ten seconds and try to type my password again.
This is getting very old.......

Hello bman121212,
If possible please try this receiver and keyboard on a different system , this will determine if this is a hardware issue or a system issue .
