Keyboards and Keyboard/Mice Combo Sets

I am having two issues with my Logitech Bluetooth keyboad in my new Zagg case. These issues have been present since first connecting the case last week. The case was purchased new.

#1) When entering a username or password in a password dialog if I try to get a $ from the keyboard (Shift+2) nothing happens. If I am typing in any program this works fine (notepad, Safari, etc). It is only when trying to use a $ in a username or password that this does not work from the external keyboard.

#2) When the keyboard is connected to the iPad, if I double press the home button on the keyboard or on the iPad the iPad goes into a wait mode, then locks. This only started after first connecting this keyboard to the iPad. If I disconnect the keyboard the home button on the iPad works as it should.

I have an Adesso bluetooth keyboard that I have used with the iPad and both of these things work fine with that keyboard. The Logitech keyboard has a much better feel however and I would like to continue using it if this can be resolved.

Not sure if this issue has been resolved or not, but I am encountering problem #1 as well. It occurs only when you are typing into a secure password field. The problem is with both the $ and the ~ character. All other characters work. I have tried this with multiple different zagg/logitech and logitech keyboards with multiple different ipad 2s here at work and I get the same results.
