Re: dinovo cordless desktop Y-RW42

The Y-RW42 model isn't Bluetooth - it's 27 Mhz FastRF (but I think you've already figured that out!!).

According to the technical specs found here we need either the C-UAK42 or the C-UQ27 receiver. I did a quick search on eBay (searching worldwide not just my country) and found several suppliers. OK... they're all Chinese but as the original Logitech-supplied receiver was also made in China and we're only talking about $10 or so, I'm OK with that.

I have ordered one but it hasn't arrived yet so I can't say whether or not it works. I guess I'll be able to tell you in 2-4 weeks.

Hope this helps (if you see my reply).

Regards,

The diNovo Media Desktop Laser is Y-RZ42, and it's bluetooth. Like the poster above said, the Cordless Desktop operates in the 27MHz frequency of the "FastRF" protocol that Logitech used to use, and to be honest was better than the 2.4GHz of the newer devices, be it bluetooth or the proprietary one.

Re: the OP, I have a Cordless Desktop, whose mouse I switched for a MX1000 mouse, and which works perfectly with the Desktop receiver. IIRC, the MX1000's receiver did work for the Cordless Desktop's mouse, but not the keyboard, though I'm not 100% sure of that. I also remember using these interchangeably with an LX500 keyboard/mouse combo, though again, it was a long time ago, I can't be 100% sure, but I'm fairly confident that any of the old FastRF keyboard/mouse combo receivers should work.
