Keyboards and Keyboard/Mice Combo Sets

Hi all.

Posting my experience to help all of you guys with the same problem.

I was able to make the software work in my Windows 7 and have now all my hot keys and buttons properly assigned.

This was tested with a legacy Cordless Desktop Optical combo.

Here's how:

1- Get the latest iTouch and MouseWare for your devices from Logitech.

2- Set "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" Windows XP (Service Pack 3) if you use Windows 7 or Windows XP (Service Pack 2) if you use Vista in both the downloaded packages. Right click and then properties.

3- Install both packages

4- After installation go to your Logitech folder in \program files and set the same compatibility mode as before to the file iTouch.exe

5- Change your keyboard and mouse device drivers in Device manager by selecting Update Driver Software and doing a customized install using Browse my computer... followed by a Let me pick from a list of device drivers...  Choose then a compatible Logitech driver for your device from the options shown.

6- Reboot.

7- After reboot you should now have your devices working and iTouch and MouseWare in your task bar. Configure both as required. Note: iTouch does not launch IE8 or addresses. You must point the hot keys to a web file or a program.

I own the Cordless MX duo - (M/N: Y-RJ20.M-RY81,C-BK16A-DUAL) and Windows 7 Ultimate.

I tried your method and all went well for the mouse and Mouseware.

The itouch for the keyboard installed however did not work at first. After the reboot, device manager showed seperate mouse and keyboard tabs where before they were under the same one.

In the running tasks, I only had the mouse icon and not the itouch.

I went to All Programs, Logitech, Itouch and right clicked on Itouch Configuration to set the compability mode.

What I did wrong at first was to use explorer to get to the program files, logitech folder.

I now have both icons in the task bar and all is well.

I've tried to follow your instructions for windows 7 but get a screen saying "Sorry, this software is not compatible with your operating system.  Your device will still provide basic functionality.  The Installer will now close."  Any suggestions as to how to get past this one?  This is with compatibility set and running as administrator.  I am able to install in XP Mode, but if I copy the app out to my actual 7 box, it still doesn't see the extended controls for my MX Duo.  even in the XP Mode install, it only sees the common 4 extra buttons, not all of them.

It's driving me crazy not to be able to set up all of my shortcut menus on the buttons like I did in XP.  It's killing my productivity...

Any help would be appreciated.

I hope anybody can help me to install the itouch Software on Windows7. I´ve I install the new itouch with Windowx XP SP3 compatiblity mode I receive the following error:

"Sorry, this software is not compatible with your operating system.  Your device will still provide basic functionality.  The Installer will now close."

I dont know why and I need need the software. please help me.

Editing registry entries can severely damage a pc, and what I am about to post, if you attempt it, you do at your own risk. Neither I, nor Logitech, take any responsibility for damage caused as a result of your registry editing activities. This apparently is caused (in my case and others) when you install Sound Blaster X-Fi software and drivers before you install Logitech's iTouch software. The Sound Blaster software tricks the iTouch software into thinking that you have a 64-bit operating system, even if you just have a 64-bit processor. The way I got round this was going into the registry by clicking start, run, typing 'regedit', and clicking ok. Then locating the registry key [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node], and right clicking on the 'Wow6432Node', and renaming it to 'aWow6432Node' (without the quotes). Keep the registry editor open, and install the software as you would normally. It should work. Once the software is installed (make sure you don't choose restart the computer in the wizard yet), find the entry you've just edited (bear in mind it will move to a new alphabetical position). Then change the 'aWow6432Node' back to 'Wow6432Node', and close the registry.

I've followed these steps (as well as the 64-bit workaround posted above) and it works, however, I can't get iTouch to load on startup.  It's checked in msconfig.  I'm guessing it's because Windows asks for permission for iTouch to make changes to the computer.  Every time I reboot or turn on the computer, I have to launch the iTouch config file and it asks me every time for permission.  I even set it to run in administration mode.

Hi, this method works fine for me, and setting the Compatibility Mode to WinXP SP3 to all .exe files in iTouch folder fixed everything..almost.

My problem now is:

I have a 7.1 speaker system with SB Audigy NX installed on Windows 7, and when iTouch is running if I scroll my keybord volume wheel the volume on the screen only changes the volume of the two frontal speakers. If iTouch is not running the wheel changes all speakers volume (this is what I am looking for). I'd like to keep iTouch open so I can use the other function-buttons on my keyboard, but if the software is open I can manage only two speakers. Do you have any tip I can use to set the number of speakers my keyboard has to manage? Maybe the problem is simply an 8 instead of a 2 on a text file! Or maybe you know a way to let Windows set "always" the speakers level simultaneously? Please help me!
