Re: iTouch and MouseWare fix for Vista and Windows 7

I am also experiencing the same problem with iTouch not loading on startup. I have to manually start the file from the Start menu and authorise it frm the pop-up. Have set all the exe. files to run in WINXPSP3 mode. No success unfortunately. Details of the fix would be appreciated

Yeah... i just now installed Windows 7 64bit and it won't allow you to rename it...

**bleep**. I really don't want to run 32bit again... ugh... this is terrible... does anyone know of any open source program that i can program my F-keys to be used as shortcuts... cause that's really the only thing i use itouch for anyway...

Re: iTouch and MouseWare fix for Vista and Windows 7

[ Edited ]

I tried to edit the install.idx (Installshield install script) for Itouch 2.22 with limited success. I managed to circumvent some of the checks, but couldnt find them all. Needle in a haystack.

I used this as a guide for what I was doing:

http://varname.org/isoscheck.html

However I've come across this website which details how to set up the media keys manually if you aren't afraid of the registry:

http://ashish.vashisht.net/2008/01/configuring-keyboard-multimedia-keys.html

Personally I am very angry and disappointed that logitech are not providing drivers for a product that while old, is still a perfectly acceptable and compatible piece of hardware. I'll be certain to never buy a logitech product again if it's longevity I require, nor reccomend them to anyone else.

Re: iTouch and MouseWare fix for Vista and Windows 7

I don't understand why they won't release any source code so mouseware/itouch can be adapted to 64bit (but I don't know much about this stuff). I insist on using my preferred version of mouseware that allows me to scroll inactive windows, so I guess I'm stuck w/32-bit Win 7
