I have been using an older Logitech Cordless keyboard (model Y-RJ21) and mouse pair with Vista (I don't even remember what the set was called and the info on the mouse has worn off the label).
Everything was working fine until I decided I wanted to use a Logitech USB Trackball Marble Mouse. Plugging the trackball into a USB point didn't result in a working trackball, so I downloaded the latest version of SetPoint. The trackball then worked but it killed the keyboard. I noticed SetPoint didn't detect my iTouch keyboard. I also saw that iTouch won't with Vista. Strangely enough the wireless mouse worked with the trackball although the keyboard didn't.
I tried uninstalling SetPoint because I thought a working mouse and keyboard was more useful than two working mice. I uninstalled the program, removed keyboard drivers from the Device Manager, and everything else I can think of. At the moment, the keyboard acts strangely. The User button functions correctly, F-Lock makes the computer beep, and the Media button brings up Windows Media player. None of the other keys do anything.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get the keyboard to function properly again?

Sounds like maybe the keyboard became unsecured. You would need to install the software on a non-vista machine and resecure the keyboard. You should then be able to replace the keyboard back on the vista computer, and it should function fine. The trackball should also work without installing any software either. I would link a document about secure mode, but I have awful luck with figuring out how to link things. Just do a search for secure mode within our knowledge base, and you'll find quite a bit of helpful information.

Well I tried an XP machine at work with no luck. Then I tried the copy of XP that I run on my MacBook. I'm not sure if the CTRL-Alt-F12 (for setting up Secure Mode) worked but I pressed that a few times and waited a minute and XP started downloading some drivers through the Found New Hardware Wizard. After a few minutes the keyboard was working again. And it worked when I moved the setup back to my Vista machine. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Looks to me like I'm having the same problem you had.
Can you tell me how you resolved your issue with your wireless Logitech keyboard not working under Vista?
Cheers!
