Does anyone know how old my venerable 3-button Trackman M...

Does anyone know how old my venerable 3-button Trackman Marble Model T-CH11 is ? It was made in Taiwan sometime in the late 20th century --- I am retired now and still use it several hours every day. I have never even had to open the case !

I know I spent $100 for it MANY years ago --- I know it was used with Win 95, NT, 2000, and now XP as well as Redhat 5.x, 7.1, and up through Ubuntu Linux --- it has been used with at least four generations of PC hardware --- there is no date on it.

It has been so bulletproof that I keep buying Logitech equipment, the latest being my laptop webcam.

Any Logitech folks here, you can't quote me for advertising purposes unless I get an answer ... *chuckle*.

Thanks and good wishes to all.

Mike

PS: I was told I could be the last living user of this model ... heeheehee.

Your particular model had two revisions, and they were produced from 1995 to 1999.

Without more information in the form of the Serial Number (or S/N) from the bottom of the unit there is no way to tell more than that.

You are certainly not the last user of these.  I have two myself.  Unfortunately, my newest box is running XP professional x64 and I have not been able to get logitech drivers to recognize it... and am unable to set acceleration and assign buttons for it.  I may be reverting to XP in the near future.

Hi Oldies

I too have a TrackMan Marble PS/2 Ser No LTO70203275. Great bit of kit! However, I have one problem that you may be able to help me with. I cannot find a driver for my Linux OS running Ubuntu 8.04 ..... can anyone help?

It worked fine when I was using Ubuntu 7.10, so there is a driver out there somewhere.

Any assistance would be much appreciated as I am having to fallback to my MSN basic mouse in the mean time..

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards
