I would like to regain the "thumb" button on my M-BA47 Wheel mouse running under WindowsXP Pro x64 edition. mw9791enu.sys will load but the Logitech Mouseware mouse properties screen shows only a two button mouse. Setpoint400 does not work either. Now that ver 9.79.1 is installed I cannot "uninstall" it. Uninstall process claims it cannot find "i8042prt.sys" in "windows system directory" so it can't uninstall the software. Note: I did a FIND for the missing sys file, found copy in windows system32 folder. Copied to windows system folder and uninstall still wont work. My original install disk was a 3.5" floppy. I pitched it several years ago when computers no longer came with floppy drives.

Got the same problem as Chuck. I can't uninstall it and I get the same problem.
In my case I want to uninstall it because I think it might cause my BSOD bad pool caller errors.
My mouse (mx510) doesn't have vista drivers so that's no option.
Any help would be appreciated.

same problem mx510 can't uninstall MW 9.79.1.
I had the mx510 working nicely in vista64, i upgraded my mobo and reinstalled v64 now i cant remember how i did it.
I used set point drivers I just can't remember what revision. The newest setpoint from the mx518 doesn't work correctly.....it causes the mouse to spaz periodically.
The MX510 is supposed to be a HID compliant device. If this is the case why isn't there vista64 drivers on the download page?
I could probably make some drivers but it would be a lot easier if logitech did it.
another though......if they made the drivers it would be 55megs of social engineering.
I'll figure it out eventually...... I wish the blue g5 had a button in front of the wheel....to hard to give up after your used to it....Id upgrade for tilt but not to a mx518 just because of drivers.

OK search the registry for 5809E7CF
verify that the folder it finds contains the old MW crap.
delete that entire folder it will be something like {5809E7CF-4DCF-11D4-9875-00105ACE7734}
MW 9.79.1 should be gone.
try setpoint 2.41? I think this is the one that did the trick on my mx510.
you may have to extract the self extracting download package and right click the installer and put it in XP compatibility mode.
The only reason I wanted this is so that i could use my mouse wheel button for aero flip.
