DSL Modem>E4200>100' Cat6>SE2500>6' Cat6>Dell XPS 420 Windows 7
In this setup windows 7 crashes everytime about 2 mins
If I go 100' Cat6 to computer there is no issue at all
The first 6' cable I used would only give a 10Mb connection
The second 6' give 1Gb but still crashes everytime
The E4200 has only two ports used one for the SE2500 and one for a Cisco SD2005
The SD2005 is connected to a Revue, Squeezebox, Sony BDP, and a Dish Network 722
I am also using WET610N to a trendnet 4port switch with a Dish 922 and a Sony BDP which I am tring to eliminate the WET610N by hard wiring everything. This is the purpose of the new SE2500. This will be my second setup that will get Hard wired after the computer area gets sorted out
Any advice would be great

You just need to do more troubleshooting with this setup before anything can be concluded.
The most common reason for this behavior would be spyware/viruses or other issues on your computer. The first step I would do is to boot the computer in the safe mode and see if the issue does not disappear. While in safe mode, you would need to check your computer for spyware and viruses, and there are plenty of software you can use.
There are two other possibilities: defective (or too long) ethernet cable or a defective switch.
Some power saving switches have problems with long ethernet cables (100 feet is pushing it, if it is longer than 100 feet, it will create problems). This is what I would do:
1. Try switching the location of two switches - test your long ethernet connection with the Cisco switch and also see if the SE2500 creates problems in the new location.
2. if that does not solve it for the long connection, try connecting the switch to the router with a shorter cable...
3. When you build wired connections, it is a good idea to have an ethernet cable tester to make things easier...
Not sure if this helps, but that's what I would do.

I know the cable length is pushing and I plan on shortening it once it goes into the attic but I wanted to test before making it final

I agree with RZ on additional diagnostic, good information. In addition, do you have the latest NIC driver installed? What type of error messages are you getting from the crash? If possible, you may want to connect different devices (additional PC's, NAS..etc) to the SE2500 and see if they experience any issues (to isolate the problem down to either the Dell or SE2500). It may also be interesting to see what happens if you turn off your NIC's auto negotiation for speed/duplex.

I will get to figuring out what was really wrong later I'm happy for now
Now I'm just upset that I didnt run the cable through the attic while I had time
