got my G27 last Friday and hoped to have a nice weekend, but I didn't have because of the **bleep** wheel.
I works fine so far, but there is absolutely no FFB function in following games: LFS, RFactor (Demo delivered with G27), GT Legends, Race07 (GTR Evolution). I tried all Versions of the Logitech Profiler from 5.02 up to 5.08. Every profilerversion detects the wheel different. Some recognize it as G25 others as Driving Force Pro and the new Version detects it as G27. The strange thing is, when I check settings of the wheel (Profiler and / or Windows XP SP2 Hardwaremanager), there is no FFB function. I remember from my Rumplepad, that if you test the buttons, there will be noises and vibration in the Hardwaresetup (Profiler and Windows), here it doesn't.
I tried the fix for GTR Evo with setting down the "G27 LED LOWER LIMIT" to 0 (standard 0.81) and let the UPPER LIMIT to 0.96, which also doesnt work for me. I called the hotline this morning and the guy had absolutely no plan. I told him that this is the worst marketing strategy have ever seen.
If all the Problems with the G27 wont be fixed, Fanatec will have their most profitable year in 2010. Why do they release a wheel, which doesnt work correct, for such a high price, and then saying, that game developers have to care for the whole function. Thats stupid, because they wont care which wheel I use, but Logitech should care!!!
So please help me to fix the FFB-sh*t or I'll send this thing back and get a Porsche-Wheel...
Maybe someone got a hint for me.

By the way, the LEDs (Rev-lights) aren't working to. When the wheel is connected they light up, while the wheel is calibrating (goin left to right). After that they don't work. If this is what I payed 300 € for, then this will be my last Logitech Product (using them for more than 10 years).
If you think it's correctly, to let some students manage the Hotline for gaming devices, which doesnt know, any racing simulation, I feel like I got kicked my balls.
I'm really workin hard for my money, so should you guys (from Logitech)
By the way, funniest thing is the Troubleshhoting paper, which you get with the wheel:
The whole Troubleshooting hints look like this:
"My gamecontroller does not function in game"
1. check all cable connections
2. check game settings
The best troubleshooter i've ever seen in a CD Booklet with 14(!!!) sides.
Great work, Logitech!!!

WOW do I hear you guys, this g27 s**ks !!!!!!! I have all the same probs you 2 and just about everyone one else on this support forum is having . I have been using a momo for years and just wanted to upgrade, boy what a nightmare this has been. This G27 is nothing but a boat anchor without having any software it is totally useless!!!!!! Then to top it off there is NO SUPPORT!!!!! They need their asses kick for making such a pretty piece of junk........... I will be taking mine back soon another 150 mile round trip for me. I came in to this forum just knowing there would be some answer to my questions and problems, but man oh man I have only read one reply on here from logistic , and guess what........... It was no help it just took a lot of my time doing all the things the idiot suggested!! Oh well I guess I have spoke my piece for now, If anyone knows of a good wheel please let me know!

Gonna push it again, in hope some Logitec "specialists" will take care. Please bring us some Software / drivers the wheel will work with correctly. How can it be, that a cheap Speedlink FFB Wheel works correct in any Simulation and the expensive Logitech produkt with a long history (G25) cannot be implemented? Thats a joke! Guess your investments go into design and marketing, but you should invest a whole lot more into qualitymanagement!!!
Didn't get any answer to mails, the guy i talked to on the phone, told me that they will be answered next year. I told him, till then the problem won't be mine anymore, because I ll send it definitely back aat the end of this week, if I get no help immediatly.
This is no f....ing keyboard for 10 Euros, it is about 300 €. For this large amount I expect something like a support!!!
So speed up guys, otherwise in the future a lot of my money will be transfered to other companies, not any cent to Logitech (after all I think the name is meant as a joke: Logical & Technology , lol )

WIthout changin anything, it seems to work now in GTR Evolution perfectly, and in LFS the FFB is doin well. So I think the Software is totally buggy. What still doesnt work is that the wheel only can steer 200 °. Changes in the profiler, Windows or LFS have no effect. This till **bleep**.

Exacly same problems.
Never had any problems with Logitech product before, but this time it's a nightmare.
More than 3 hours to install a partially working driver.
with the CD included it was not even recognized as G27, had to download new version online (v5.8) to be seen as G27.
But that, is after cleaning up all my registry for any trace of the Driving Force Pro or else it's always trying to install it as a DFP Wheel !!!
So now windows see it as a G27 and Logitech software ad a DFP... SWEEEET !
Lights turn on when wheel is detected, then goes off and never work in games.
Clutch and H-shifter are not detected in windows or Live for Speed and Force Feedback is way to soft compared to what I had with Red Momo (played with it just before swaping for new wheel)
I tought that I should give a try on the PC to this G27 as it should just take 5 minutes to swap the wheels and play... NO WAY !!!
After 3 hours of hard work i'm stuck with a half-baked/half-working drivers and software that probably killed all I had before for making my old Red Momo working fine...
I'll give a try on the Ps3 where it was supposed to go and other PCs in house (XP 32/Vista 64...), but if it's not better, it's a trip back to store that this wheel will get.
Having looked for a compatible wheel for 360/PS3 and Pc for the last 2 months i'll probably go for a Fanatec...
Logitech support/driver guys have a 24h ticking clock to find a solution to our problems or will see one of his best customer REALLY disapointed and switching to another brand.
We expect more from a high end product like this one... we pay big price for it and all we got is problems.
BTW, I'm a tech with more than 10 years exp and used to fix this kind of problems in minutes...
I can imagine how Mr. Just-got-my-1st PC for chrismas will feel facing this king of problems.
He wont have any clue and will think it's the way it work or bug his gamer friends for weeks to have it work. (Sad)
Good luck with it guys, if anyone (including me) find a way to have it work, please post solution here. WITH LINKS for working drivers.
For trouble shooting info, I use:
G27 Wheel, XP SP2., driver 5.8,
Got these wheels intalled over past years on same PC/OS: Momo Force (Red Momo), Driving Force Pro (right padle shift does 2 shift at once now so I puted back Red Momo), G27 (tonight).

Cool I found it, at least for MY problem.
I wish it can help someone out there...
If you ever have windows or your game not seing your wheel as a G27 do this:
1. uncompress the 5.08 newest driver updater (right click on the lgs508.exe file then extract it to a folder of your choice) instead of double click the .exe wich start the installer.
2. Right click on ''My Computer'' and click on manage.
3. Go to HID user peripherals (I guessed the english translation here), then go to all of the Logitech Virtual Hid Devices you can find and update the driver chosing where you will take the files... yes, you will use the files you extracted on step 1.
For me the driver files are in <drive>:\folder where I extracted\lgs508\2a-LGS-x86\Common\Logitech\WMDriv
After I updated these files I unplugued and pluged the wheel and it found a G27, not a Driving Force Pro !!!
did same steps for the Logitech G27 Racing Wheel USB and Logitech G27 Racing Wheel USB HID periferals and voila... it work.
Tested with LFS and it's AWESOME !!! I can even tel LFS to use sequential and it work with the H-Shifter... you just have to configure hi and low shift to midle up and down positions of the nob.
All I need to find now is how to get the LEDS working with LFS, but for this I can count on the add-ons of the game... for sure there will be something out there soon if not already released.
-Edited after some changes done-
The profiler was still not right so I reinstalled using the lgs508.exe and this time it worked as the G27 drivers where already seen and installed. No more conflick or detection of a DFP wheel... so I can now see the G27 in Windows game controlers and when I press the gas LEDS light up !!! YEAAAAA
For the ones who had no logitech controlers before you can try this but it might not work.
Tomorow I test the controler on the PS3 + Shift and and GT5 demo, if it does not work, i'll post comments, if it work, i'll play instead of typing here, already lost a few hours of precious vacations on this driver problem.
Happy new year to all of you reading these lines.
Zalex, same name in LFS.

With your hints I got the wheel fully working. I reakized that the DLLs of the HID-Devices werent updated by the Profiler. So first I used the 5.07 Software and updated the DLLs by hand, the wheel worked but the steering angle was fixed to 200°. By extracting the 5.08 version and updating the DLLs by hand, now everything seems to work perfekt.
Too bad, that I have to pay 300€ for being a beta-tester, that **bleep** really hard.
For those who still don't know: Most games don t support the LEDs yet, I ve testet em with GTR Evolution, where they work fine (after fixing the drivers), LFS doesn t support GTL too. For those who want to test, get "Volvo- The game", which is free to download (just use G**gle), and supports the LEDs.

Zalex- What probably happened in your case is that something interrupted the initial enumeration of the G27, and thus there was a registry key relating the device to one of our other wheels (The G27 has a multi-personality firmware that enables compatibility with a broad range of devices).
Good call on manually extracting the drivers and associating them with the HID instances: That will force the HID instance to use the full version of the drivers and not compatibility-level drivers that it would pull automatically in the case of this install issue.
This gave me an idea though. Let me see what I can do on the backend for you guys...

Isn t it crazy? Within 2 weeks after this thread was opened, there wasen t any reaction by Logitech support.
After we fixed the problems on our own, CharlesB gives us some reaction, where he promises, to look, what he can do on the backend for us.

If someone asks me which racing wheel he should buy, guess what I will tell him....
