The left and right scroll functions on my G700 mouse do not work, unless I run Setpoint first.
There appears to be a bug in the current version of Setpoint, that prevents it from running at system start.

Please make sure that Setpoint is set to start with Windows, by following the steps listed below.
- Start Menu > Type msconfig in the search box and press Enter
- Click the Startup tab
- Look for Setpoint in the list and check the box beside it
- Click Apply
- Select the Boot tab, and check the Make all boot settings permanent box
- Click OK
- Restart your PC when prompted
I hope this helps!

Reinstalling SETPOINT did solve the problem, but later on something deleted the starup entry for it and I had to do the install again.
The only significant installation around the proper time was the latest version of the Logitech KEYBOARD software.

If you installed the G-series keyboard software (7.0 or 8.0), there seems to be a bug in that where if you uninstall, it removes all items from the startup. Oops...
