Automatic Answering

First, is ther a Logitech VID User Guide that can be referenced?   It takes a lot of time to click on every item under the 'Troubleshooting' page.

 

I"m trying to put together a scenario where something like the Google-TV box is used in conjunction with a web cam that's able to see who is in front of the Google-TV television and even talk to them. 

 

At this point it looks like an independent cam network and I was talking to the security app people about this.

 

But the only thing I really need is to be able to kick off a Logitech VID session from a PC to the Logitech VID on the television and have it automatically answer.

 

It does require that Logitech VID would not be active on the Google-TV device at the time but be able to be triggerred and the session started without any user interaction at the TV.

 

IS this something that can be done?

There is no formal user guide available for Logitech Vid HD. We do offer support FAQ's available by way of the "Support" link at the top of the Logitech website

 

Here is a short cut to the general Vid HD FAQs for Mac & PC.

 

Here is a shortcut to the Revue FAQs.

 

The Logitech Vid HD application on the Revue cannot be remotely launched by someone on a Mac or PC. It has to be manually launched by someone with direct access to the Revue.

 

There is no auto answer feature available for Logitech Vid HD on the Revue.

I thought as much.   

 

As an FYI the reason I ask for a manual is all the answers are in one place and you don't have to search for them and guess the right keywords to find them.  For example, I know that my PC VID automaticallly accepts incoming calls. 

 

I found this old video from Logitech that runs through the setup and, at the end, you can see the option.  It's the same as the current version.

But in the FAQ all i could find was this: (and after a degree of searching):

In the picture you can see 'Advanced' option but there's no explanation of it anywhere I can find. 

 

In closing though I do want to confirm that there is not automatic answer for the Revue VID similar to the automatic answer for the PC or MAC VID, correct?

PS: You have to select the Play button to the right of Logitect VID (under Get Connected) to get the video started.

You are correct. The Logitech Vid HD application for Macintosh and Windows has an auto answer option. Vid HD on the Revue does not have an auto answer option.
