Logitech Vid

A quick question about the Logitech Vid HD software.  I have to install this and create an account to finalize software installation correct?  If I am reading the literature correctly anyone I want to contact through the webcam must be running this same software.  I want to use Skype which is what everyone i will contact is using.  CaN i SIMPLY INSTALL vID hd AND NOT USE IT?  TIA

Hello rootster;

Logitech Vid HD is not required for you to use your webcam.

When you launch the Logitech Webcam Software (i.e. LWS) installer for your webcam, you have the option for a custom install and are able to choose what you want installed or want not to be installed, including Logitech Vid HD.

Now that you have Vid HD installed, you may leave it on there and never use it, launch it and compare it's features and quality to Skype or uninstall it.

I did do a custom install however to finalize installation I was prompted to set up a vid HD account.  I could not close the dialog box until I did.
