C270 - 800x600 is the highest video size I can get in Skype and VidHD

[ Edited ]

I have the same issue - 800x600 is the higest video size I can get in Skype and VidHD.

I can see the HD video in the "Logitech Webcam Software", as shown above, but nothing in the programs I need to use (Skype and VidHD)

When I adjust the video settings (withing either program) there is no option to set video resolution.

This is what I see in the webcam properties window:

There are no other setting within Skype or VidHD that allows me to changes the video size.

I'm running Win XP SP3 on a Lenovo A57 ThinkCentre, proper USB 2.0 ports, etc. Latest softwware downloaded and installed today.

My first Logitech product and probably my last.

Mike.

Hello Mingle;

Reboot your computer and make sure no other applications are running, including those that appear as icons in your windows notification area next to the system clock. If they are running, exit or quit them.

Launch Logitech Vid HD and sign in.

Click on Help > Submit Diagnostic Information.

Once this is done, click Settings > Application & Device Settings > Advanced Settings

Scroll down the page a little and click on "Clear Tuning History".

Click on "Save".

Once this is done, add your own e-mail address as a friend.

Call yourself.

While in call, press Ctrl S on your keyboard.

In the "Statistics" window, look at the WxH field for sending and receiving and make note of the highest resolution that is acheived.

End the Call.

Clear the tuning history again and save the setting.

Add the e-mail address vidtest@logitech.com as a friend.

Call the "Vid 2 Min Demo".

Press Ctrl S again look at the WxH field for sending and receiving and make note of highest resolution that is acheived.

End the call.

Submit a second diagnostic.

After you send both diagnositcs, send me a private message and let me know the e-mail address you sign into Vid HD with. In addition, please tell me the highest resolution acheived, sending and receiving in both your self call and the call to the demo.

Thanks

Hello deepu;

A self call with Logitech Vid HD does not factor in bandwidth.

Visit http://speedtest.net/

Run three speedtests and observe the ping, download and upload results for each.

Post the results here.

Thanks

Hello deepu;

Your speed test results don't appear to support the observed resolution results of your test calls with the "Vid 2 Min Demo". Specifically, the download speed test results ranging from 0.27 - 0.28 Mbps would not allow you to receive 1280x720 from the demo. However, your upload speed test results ranging from 0.30 - 0.31 Mbps would explain why your calls are being limited to sending a lower resolution such as you mentioned. To get a more accurate measure of your bandwidth capabilities, I'd suggest trying the speed tests again with a different server and make sure there are no other applications running on you computer or bandwidth intensive activity occurring on your network when you do so. There are other system resource factors to consider as well.

For HD call system requirements, please refer to FAQ 17176

Thanks
