I have a new dell studio XPS i-7 (running 64 bit win7 home premium). It has Norton Internet security running. This and a dell deminsion with Win XP and Norton Internet security are networked together with a Cisco hard wired (eithernet) router and share a DSL internet connection with bellsouth. I recently installed the latest logictec webcam software +VID. Both software's work until I shut down and then restart. Then when I doubble click on either the webcam software icon or the VID icon that appeared on my desktop, neither program opens. I have also tried to open using Start, programs, but the same thing happens. Both of these programs work fine on the computer running Win XP. i have uninstalled the software and reinstalled with Norton Internet security disabled. Same result. After a restart , neither program will open on the Win 7 computer. I need advice. Jim Walker

Hello JPW111;
Right click on the Logitech Vid application short cut icon on your desktop and then left click on "Run as Administrator".
Does Logitech Vid launch?
Thanks

I am having the same issue with Windows 7 64 bit. Just bought a Webcam Pro 9000, and installed the latest software Lws110_x64. The camera works find with programs like skype. But when I go click on the icon to launch Logitech Web Cam software or VID nothing happens, nothing loads etc. Very disapointing to have a camera advertised to be compatable with Win7 and for that not to be the case :-(
I noticed after spending a few hourse installing and then reinstallling, that the application crashes or shuts down at the part where it is trying to create a VID account.
Any suggestions logitech? I have searched thought you support forum and not seen anything, it appears as if I am not the only one with this issue.

Would you please try installing the latest Vid version by downloading directly from this link - http://www.logitech.com/vid. Let us know if you continue to experience same issue with launching the Vid application.
If the issue persists, open your task manager and look under the Processes to find Vid.exe. If it's listed there, try to end that process then relaunch Vid.
Thanks,

I have loaded lws 110X64 using clean boot as an administrator with norton firewall and anti virus disabled. I have set norton fire wall to allow VID ; also allow logitec webcame software; I have attempted to run the applications as Administrator. None of these has allowed me to open the software. I purchased an upgrade to Windows 7 home premium to upgrade to Windows 7 professional to allow me to run in WIindows XP SP3 mode, but todate, I cannot open lws or VID . I have emailed Microsoft support. They advised me to work with you since it is a third party software problem. Please advise me. JP Walker

JPW111,
Does the software (LWS or Vid) open when you don't run the Windows XP mode option on your Windows 7 Pro? Which OS selection for LWS/Vid did you download/install?
Thanks,

Neither webcam or Vid software will open in WIN 7 or in win pro using win XP Compatibility setting. I downloaded the latest software from logitech for WIN 7 64 bit systems. Please read my other 2 postings on this same issue before replying. That will give you full picture of all I have tried. JPW111

JPW111,
Pardon me, I didnt notice you owned the first post! I would suggest you contact the Logitech Support and reference this forum thread for further troubleshooting and for escalation if necessary.
Thanks,

I'm having the same problems also with Windows 7 64 bit and Pro 9000. I originally installed CD software in Dec 09 and all was OK until today (using a different USB port) when VID didn't start up when clicking on the icon. Tried re-installing using Lws110_x64 and then the latest standalone VID v1.5. Problem is that VID hangs either during installation (creating an account) or, after restarting, when creating a 10 second test video. Unfortunately the vid *32 service cannot be terminated in task manager - only by rebooting.
No problems at all with Skype or Messenger just VID.
Has a recent windows update caused a problem as all was originally working perfectly?

I'd just like to modify my last post - the webcam IS causing any program to hang which tries to access it including Vid, Lws, Skype, PowerDirector, Messenger, Wimdows Movie Maker etc.
Device Manager doesn't show any USB issues but disconnecting the webcam from the USB port removes problems with all the above software but obviously this isn't a solution!
