Logitech Vid: Forced logout

We have a Logitech Revue box with the Vid HD camera.  For a while now it keeps flashing (approximately every 30 seconds) a message panel that says the Vid cannot contact the server. Error 408.

THis is really annoying.

Is there any way I can get rid of the application so I don't have all my TV viewing interrupted with this message?

I tried logging out, but I can't, since it can't get the server.

What else can I do?

Re: Logitech Vid: Forced logout

Hello Cstenfors;

Please perform the following steps on your Revue:

Press the "Home" key on the Revue keyboard and then press the "Settings" key.

Navigate through the options by selecting each of the following in the listed sequence; System Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Logitech Vid HD > Clear Data

Acknowledge the Delete message by selecting "OK"

NOTE: Deleting this data will also delete the data stored in the Logitech Vid HD login page e-mail address and password fields. You will be required to re-enter that information the next time you launch the app.

After you finish this step reboot the Revue by pressing Ctrl Alt Del

Thanks

Re: Logitech Vid: Forced logout

[ Edited ]

A problem with this is after re-entering everything, creating a new account and connecting the camera it only takes a few minutes before the same error message begins flashing every 30 seconds !

So the only reliable solution seems to be to give up on this conferencing solution altogether ??

After all the camera can be used with a laptop as well to support use in Google Hangouts so the money is not all wasted.

But the Revue solution seems toast ?

This is especially annoying to those who paid extra for the special Bundle edition with Revue and camera.

I have two such bundle kits at different locations for family conferencing. And now this does not seem to work ?

Could it be that Logitech have given up on the Revue and there is nobody maintaining anything these days

on the server side ?  It seems the promised 3.2 update is cancelled as well. So does things look bleak ?

Re: Logitech Vid: Forced logout

And again, the very same error. Since yesterday every program we're trying to watch is ruined by this incessant message.

Is there no fix or solution? Surely the Logitech Chat servers are not really unavailable for such an extended period of time? After all, Logitech Vid is used or at least available for all Logitech video cameras and not only for the Revue.
