I started to use Logitech vid with logitech cam 1.5 years ago and it has been running well.
However, about 1 months ago, the program started to cause internet disconnection everytime i use it. Im using a home wireless which i can be sure that has a strong connection. I only have this problem when using logitech vid and even when using skype, i dont have it. It keeps going on and off when i am chatting via video calls.
Thanks for all your help. Im using Windows XP

Did you make any changes or additions to your home network topology (e.g. new modem or router. updated firmware on devices, etc) or change ISPs prior to the issue beginning?
Additionally, I would like to clarify if you lose connectivity on all devices on your network or only on those devices that are utilizing the routers wireless AP?
A way to test and isolate would be to bypass your router and power it off.
Then power off your modem and computer and hard wired the computer directly to the modem.
Power the modem back on and once the lights have cycled, turn on your computer.
Launch Logitech Vid HD and sign in.
Place a few test calls to friends who are available. If they are not available add firstname.lastname@example.org as a friend and call the "Vid 2 Min Demo"
NOTE: If your connection typically fails some time after two minute durations then the demo would not be an ideal test subject as it has a 2 minute timer.
When the call begins, press Ctrl S to view the "Statistics" window.
Look at the "Call Time" field in the lower right corner and make note of the time if the connection is lost.
I would also suggest taking a look at the values displayed in the "Ave" field under the "Sending" and "Receiving" columns.
If your connection does not fail, repeat the power down process but this time hard wire from your modem to your router and then hard wire from your router to your computer. Make sure your computers wireless adapter is disabled to keep if from using the routers wireless AP.
Try the test calls again with Ctrl S.
If you experience connection loss;
Did it occur with the direct modem test, direct router test or only when connected wirelessly?
At what point during your usage of Logitech Vid HD do you lose the connection?
The moment you sign in?
When you first start a call?
Sometime after the call is initiated (e.g.what was the call time)?
What were the Sending and Receiving "Ave" at the time of the connection fail?
NOTE: If the "Statistic" window disappears when the connection is lost, you can often get it back showing the last data feed by pressing Ctrl S again.
What are the manufacturer names, model numbers and firmware versions of the modem and router you use?
What is the name of your ISP?

Hello. I am having a similar issue, only my call never connects. I try to call a friend, and my modem/router reboots within five seconds. I lose my LAN connection, and a 408 error is returned.
I have tried all of the troubleshooting that I can think of. Making sure that I have the latest firmware, making sure I have enabled the correct port to be forwarded, and have made sure there is an exception around my firewall. I am stumped as to how to proceed. Of course rebooting as well.
I am using a Netgear CGD24G through Time Warner Cable. My modem/router is hard-wired to the computer with the web cam installed.

could you check again and see if you are still experiencing this issue?
