Re: Logitech Vid Chat Application

Pretty simple question but where are the technical details for Logitech Vid?  In particular:  How do I check/change the Vid session resolution to 640x480?  How do I check/change the Vid session FPS?  Logitech PR states 640x480 @30 FPS is possible.... how?

Re: Logitech Vid Chat Application

Hi Sonny,

VGA (640 x480) is gonna be based around 3 primary components

1) cpu power - 2.5Mhz or better (dual core preferably)

2) Webcam - a VGA capable camera such as the Logitech 9000 Pro or Orbit AF link

3) Bandwidth - Solid 256kbps or better both ways (if you have good bandwidth and the other doesn't Vid will reduce to accommodate the other user for quality's sake)

Re: Logitech Vid Chat Application

You cannot manually change the resolution on Vid. LogitechVid automatically sets the best resolution depending on the camera, CPU and end to end throughput. Vid reduces the resolution to QVGA (320x240) if any of the recommendations for 640x480 is not met. Resolution may downsize/upsize during the call depending on the quality of the end to end connection. While in call, you may press control-S to bring up the call statistics with information on real time resolution, frame rate, etc.
