computer to revue video calls

I got a logitech revue with the video camera.  I created a logitech vid account and can make calls from my HP laptop with a built-in webcam.  The logitech vid software running on my computer will not transmit video. to the revue.  I can see the video feed from the revue fine on my my PC.  Is there a way to enable the video output from my laptop so that I can have a 2 way video conversation with my kids when I am away on business using my new logitech revue.  (please don't say buy a new Logitech webcam for my laptop cause having it built-in already is a huge advantage).  any advice would be appreciated!

Hi swjpilot,

First of all, thanks and congratulations on purchasing a Revue and TV Cam. Sorry to hear that you were experiencing issues.

 

The following steps should address your issue.

 

1. Open Logitech Vid HD software on your PC

2. Open Settings.

3. Click, Applications and Device Settings

4. Click, Advanced Settings

5. Scroll down and uncheck the box Let Logitech Vid HD decide the best video resolution for my setup.

6. Click, Save.

7. Close Settings.

8. Make a Vid call to your Logitech Revue.

 

This should fix it. 

 

If not please send me a private message and we can contact you to troubleshoot tomorrow.

hi

 

unfortunately that didn't resolve the problem for me. i unchecked the box you mentioned but still the pc sees revue video but revue doesn't see pc video. there's just a message "Acquiring Resources" and that's it. (also, i don't see my own video in the PinP in the revue)

 

tried with 2 different pc's.

 

any other ideas?

Hi Tsabar,

 

  • Are you able to see yourself when you make PC to PC Vid calls because this sounds camera related.
  •  Before you initiate the call, in Vid on your PC if you click Settings > Application & Device Settings, do you see yourself in the image preview pane on the left side?  
  •  Are you using the same camera when you alternate between the two pc's to call Logitech Revue?.    (what is the model of the camera/camera's you are using).

I see myself in the settings, but i don't see myself in an actual call. i am using the camera that comes with the revue and it works fine under setup.

 

on the pc's i am using different cams. i am able to vid chat with each pc when i use my own pc, the problem only occurs when i call those pc's using my revue.

 

i am located in israel, that shouldn't have an impact, right? google tv doesn't limit logitech vid to the US, right?

hello i tried also to make a call to my revue at home with my computer we can  hear each other but cant see each other. The revue say my computer is not strong enough to send video something like that. but that cant be this is a pretty new computer. any help please.

Hello rmejia;

 

Just to clarify, you have no video on either end of the call?

 

In Vid on your computer if you add vidtest@logitech.com as a friend and call vid.test, do you see the video?

 

Do the same for Vid on your Revue. Do you see the video?

 

In Vid on your Revue, if you go to Settings > Camera Settings from the on-screen menus do you see your own video image?

 

In Vid on your computer, if you go to Settings >Application & Device Settings, do you see your own video image?

 

In Vid on your computer, did you try the adjustments suggested by BHONG earlier in this post?

 

Additionally, take a look at the information provided in this forums posting.

If after following all the troubleshooting steps outlined in that posting you have continued issues, would you please tell us the exact/entire error message you get on the Revue when connecting a call between it and your computer?

yes we cannot see eachother on the revue side or my computer side. we could hear each other though. I have also added logitech and i was able to see them and myself on my computer. Im not home so i cant test the revue. although i did chat with my sister in law using the revue. I unchecked the let logitech vd hd decide the best video and on the revue side its says your partys computer doesnt have capabilities for video.
