I have installed a Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 on my Win7 desktop and used it successfully in a Skype call. I am very happy with it. I see that it also installed the Logitech Vid software.
We have a wedding coming up here in California, with grandparents in the UK who cannot attend but would like to watch in real time. Can friends in the UK download and install the Vid software on the grandparents' computer so they can watch from that end? Do we need a camera plugged into that computer to get the software to download, install, and operate successfully?
Or is there other software available that will receive a video signal from our end in real-time?
Appreciate any help you can give. The wedding is July 7, so we have a bit of time to get this all working.
We can always revert to Skype, but its two-way nature runs a lot of bit traffic we don't need.

Hello Doug41;
Your grandparents are not required to have a webcam installed in order to use Logitech Vid HD. They may use the application to accept or initiate calls with friends and listen to incoming audio on their speakers and view incoming video on their monitor.
All you need to do is sign into your Vid HD user account and add them as a friend. Doing this will send them an invitation e-mail containing a link to download the software and create a free user account during the installation process.
You may refer to FAQ 18213 .
Thanks
MCW
