My brother and I have almost identical systems running Windows 7 Pro (64-bit), i7 3.44 Intel processor, 16 gb Ram, Sound Blaster HD Titanium Pro sound card and Nvidia 2gb GForce GT-440 video card. Our only difference is my brother is running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit). Sometimes we connect and talk for an hour, then without warning, lose our connection with "Program Not Responding" showing up requiring a system boot to clear out Logitech video cam program. Then we will try to re-connect, sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing. Lately, experiencing more failures than successes.
When we first both loaded the same Logitech software, everything seemed to work perfect, but then Logitech automatically popped up saying they had an update that should be uploaded to make the program more efficient. Well, we both took the down load and loaded it. Now we can't sit back and enjoy a conversation for much over 5-10 minutes without it failuring completely that requires a system reboot just to get out of the program.
Does anyone have any suggestions or comments. Oh, I'll mention even though it does not require a website to open the program, I have the latest versions of IE, Firefox and Chrome loaded on my system. The updates would only download from IE, stating my version of Firefox (my preference) was not compatable because it is version 9..0.1 with Logitech.
If any additional info is needed, just ask. I'm about to say to heck with this webcam stuff. I've looked into Googles new Webcam software, but it does not even seem to be ready for release yet, even though Google claims it is.
