When i follow the simple uninstall instructions provided in the faq (normal windows xp uninstall procedure), i get the following popup:
"Error 1306. Another application has exclusive access to the file c:\documents and settings\me\Application Data\$_hpcst$hpc. Please shut down all other applications, then click retry"
Shutting down all other applications does not help. Almost like malware running on my computer. I've never had a problem with any of my logitech products before (and I have plenty of them). I simply do not want Logitech Vid. How do I uninstall?

Hello moontalker;
An update for Logitech Vid was released yesterday that includes a fix for Microsoft ActiveSync conflict issues where the error message you posted is displayed when users attempt to uninstall Logitech Vid and the uninstall fails.
Please go to the following link to install the update.
Thanks

Hi
I'm new to Logitech and was also having trouble removing the unwanted Vid progam but this great thread has solved my problem and given back some useful Disc space as well.
Down loaded the updated Vid version as advised, ran the the update and was able to remove this via the Windows XP Control Panel as normal.
Thanks guys great result.

I noticed a link to a version of VID that would permit uninstall to run properly in the presence of MS ActiveSync. But the link is broken. Can someone provide an updated link. I need to remove this software and can't. Thanks!

Hello paulc149;
There have been some recent updates to the website. Try this link.
Then click the "Downloads" link on that page.
Thanks

The only available software on the "Downloads" page for Windows XP is the setup software for Logitech Vid. This is precisely the contrary of what I want. I have installed the last update of this application on my computer when setup up the webcam, but as I don't need it, I would like to uninstall it. However, i'm still encountering the error message described by other users here above. Kindly please help.
Thanks.

Hello wjchou:
You indicated that you installed the last update of Logitech Vid.
Are you stating that you installed the one thats currently available on our website and still get the error when you attempt to un-install it?
It is release version 1.1 dated 7/30/09 and it includes a fix for ActiveSync users.
If you have not installed this one, please do so.
Then after the install is complete, go to your Windows control panel and un-install it.
Thanks
MCW

Hi MCW and anyone else who can help,
I, too, am unable to uninstall Logitech VID.
I am getting "Error 1360 Another application has exclusive access to the file C:\Documents and Settings\[name]\Local Settings\Applications Data\WavXMapDrive.bat. Please shut down all other applications then click Retry."
I have down loaded and reinstalled from the Logitech website the latest version of VID for Windows XP which shows on downloaded file as 1.1, but which shows as 6.1.6909 when,after the download and install, I right click the VID icon and choose About.
I have no other programs running when I try the uninstall through the Windows Control Panel /add or remove programs.
Thanks for any assistance you or anyone else can provide.
