Mice - Bluetooth

How many times is it necessary to install the software for my Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks with Bluetooth Technology? The reason I purchased this product was because I don't like using my laptops mouse pad. I am able to get it to work after a great deal of effort, however I find I must uninstall and reinstall the logitec software each time I restart my computer. I have seen the message "Device Driver Software Was Not Successfullly Installed" so many times that I now have it memorized. Please help! Sheila 

ps. My Laptop is an HP Pavillion dv9000 with a Microsoft Vista operating system.
