Mice - Bluetooth

My mouse is part of the Bluetooth MX5000 keyboard and Mouse package.  The mouse takes forever to load.  It waits for the whole desktop, all the programmes in the tray to load and then start to load the mouse. Why is the mouse the last to load?

Can this be changed ?  I have Vista 32 Bit Ultimate.  I am using the SetPoint 4.60 driver.
