I use this mouse connected o a laptop computer in different places (home work etc...) No metal desk or surface, No electrical Devices near the laptop, I see no reason for interfering.

Re: Sleeping V470

CJChew,

I believe the original poster is talking about the power save mode which makes the mouse movement lag after 5 seconds of inactivity on the mouse. It looks like (at minimum) a significant portion of the mice coming out of the factory are showing this problem. I have personally tried out several of these mice with the same thing. This problem is being posted to forums all over the internet, amazon.com, this forum, and many others.

It might be that some users don't notice it, but on the Mac (where the acceleration cannot be adjusted, limitation on the mac platform) it is more noticeable because the acceleration causes the mouse to jump across the screen every time.

Now, if there is a way to change the time it takes for the mouse to go to sleep (ie, from 5 seconds, to maybe 30 to 60 seconds) then it would totally change the usability of the mouse for the better. But when the mouse sleeps in 5 seconds, and takes a half second of "jumpy" moving while waking up, then every time you read 2-3 sentences on a website, your mouse sleep cycles, and you get a jumpy mouse seamingly "all the time" or "every time you start a mouse movement"

even if not every time, the majority of the time.

Re: Sleeping V470

I stumbled upon this thread when I browse the fourm, and I do have the same "problem". Not actually a problem, but it's still annoying to have a split-second of "reactivating" the mouse from a "sleep" mode.

Any way to turn off this "power save" mode?

Re: Sleeping V470

I have the same issue. That's quite unfortunate, because otherwise this is a nice mouse and very practical if you already have bluetooth incorporated in your computer as I do: no dongle to block an USB port!

I am not sure that the sleep problem is so simple to solve. I guess that the whole bluetooth reconnect is problematic, and the engineers at Logitech had to compromise: if they would have left bluetooth all the time active and connected, that would probably kill the battery in a couple of days of use.

I suspect there are inherent problems when designing bluetooth devices and they are difficult, if not impossible to overcome. It would have been interresting however to have a user settable parameter (delay to sleep) with a clear indication what the compromise is, so that users can decide for themselves if they want a longer battery life, or a mouse that is more responsive. I don't know yet how long the battery runs (I have the mouse since only a couple of days), but should I have the possibility, I would set my mouse to 60 seconds before going into sleep mode.

I would suggest Logitech engineers another trick (obviously, for an upcoming product): add a "touch sensor" to the mouse, so that when the user grabs the mouse it leaves the sleep state so that the delay becomes shorter or null; normally there is a delay between grabbing the mouse and moving it (and by the way: 2 cents royalties for every mouse you sell with this feature would be ok ;-).
