Please please Logitech make us a bluetooth trackman. I purchased my laptop with bluetooth specifically so that I could buy a bluetooth trackman, I just assumed you would be making one. The wireless USB version you sell now is ridiculous when used with a laptop due to the cord and large receiver dangling from the USB port. The trackman is a great mouse, it would be even better without a cord when used with a laptop. So what do you say?

I too enjoy using the TrackMan with my laptop.  I am in the process of builiding a laptop with Dell and would like to get a TrackMan that I can use with bluetooth instead of tying up one of the USB outlets.  The current unit is clumsy to use when on the road because of the corded reciever unit.  Bluetooth would make the TrackMan even BETTER!  I consider Logitech's TrackMan to be the best in the industry.  It would be a shame to see the competition beat you to market with their Bluetooth Track Ball unit.

It is unbelievable to me that Logitech has ignored user requests for a bluetooth trackball for so long now. What is up? Is there really such corporate secrecy that not a single higher-up in product development could even comment on the logistical challenges, marketing issues, etc. for a trackball? Could they at least take the time to mention that they appreciate our business and our loyalty? As far back as 2005, people have called for a bluetooth trackball. Nothing yet? Come on...

I must say, I do prefer Logitech to other Trackballs on the market.  Logitech just fits my large hands much better than other units.  All that being said, I would seriously look at purchasing a Trackball from another company if they came out with the Bluetooth feature.  I hope that Logitech is working on this issue, and would appreciate just hearing this from one of the executives.  How about one of the product researchers letting us know what is going on with Logitech?  It may make some of us feel better about this issue.

Yeah, I just started a thread bout this too. I searched the forums but didn't find this thread. Anyway, I'd like to add my voice to the cry for a Bluetooth TrackMan. I haven't used a mouse in years. I'm getting a Bluetooth enabled Mac with an Apple wireless keyboard, and I was sure I could just get a Bluetooth version of my beloved TrackMan...but nope. I was shocked that I haven't discovered a single product like the TrackMan in a Bluetooth version. What a bummer...

And now, Logitech has put out a mouse with Bluetooth.

Please, please Bluetooth the wireless Trackman. I seriously own a half dozen trackballs, dating a decade. Yes, they're still working, and I still have them - and I will buy new ones if they include new hardware improvements. I bought a USB one, and I have been waiting for a Bluetooth one for two years.

Where's my trackball for my PS3, as well?

Another user of trackman who dearly would love a bluetooth version. I have 4 corded and 1 coreless, and love the thumbwheel version. The normal cordless us pretty useless really, with its usb receiver which has to follow the laptop when you pick it up. I use my laptop on my la-z-boy chair and a trackball is perfectly suited to the armrest.

I too would like to throw in my two cents and cast my vote for a bluetooth trackman. My Powerbook doubles as my media center at home to watch movies and such on the big screen. It's a nice setup except for the the long USB extension cord I have going across the floor so that the receiver for the my current wireless trackman can pick up a signal from the couch. I have to flat surface to use a mouse on, which is why the trackball is ideal, and I love my trackman.

I have been searching for an acceptable bluetooth alternative for YEARS. I love logitech products, I think they're superior to everything else. PLEASE make a bluetooth trackman! Even if it's expensive, as long as the price isn't astronomical, I will buy it.

Having read this and other threads, there is evidently an established and growing consensus that Logitech is missing an extraordinary opportunity to access premium revenues by being the first to transition trackball technology into the Bluetooth domain. It is my personal observation that as home theaters and home computers converge (as they have in my house), this pent up demand for Bluetooth trackballs will assuredly increase. Recliners and couches make rather poor work spaces, and yet a simple thing like a bluetooth-enabled trackball can make using ones TV as a computer screen substantially more comfortable and productive.

One wonders if the apparent lethargy with which Logitech has responded to the demand for Bluetooth technologies is a strategic, financial or emotional decision. Having chosen the "wireless" route, is the cost (financially, technologically and/or emotionally) of switching mid stream to the once nacent, but now thriving Bluetooth horse still weighing too heavily?  

Have the sales of trackball products fallen off in recent times? Bluetooth might revitalize these sales revenues. Perhaps the whole Logitech trackball marketing strategy needs revitalization--this would be a terrific opportunity to do just that. I believe the value and unique quality of Logitech's trackball product designs are still relatively unknown to most computer users. 

Moreover, I measure a substantial loss in productivity when using the touch pad on my laptop and would greatly prefer to use a Logitech trackball product. Since it is my intent to link my cell phone's Bluetooth earpiece to my computer (via a Bluetooth dongle) for VoIP service, and since the dongle I purchased (less than $10 on eBay) includes the software to create a Bluetooth LAN encompassing Bluetooth-compatible peripherals, phones, computers, et al, how better to solve my "mouse issues" than with a Bluetooth Trackman from Logitech?

I have searched for some statement of intent from Logitech to no avail. My question to Logitech is "Given the obvious need and demand for this product, can you give your faithful customerbase and the untapped segments of your Total Available Market (TAM) some insight into your plans?"

And as a feature enhancement, I'd like to suggest a scroll ball instead of a scroll wheel, much like the Apple Mighty Mouse has. At least make one TrackMan model with a scroll ball if you don't abandon the scroll wheel altogether. I purchased a new Mac recently, and it had a wireless Mighty Mouse, and I must say, despite my initial skepticism about its usability, I really like it. Being able to scroll diagonally and horizontally without having to hold down the shift key with the other hand is great. And the tactile nature and behavior of the ball is quite nicely implemented.
