Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

It's not Logitech, but it's a bluetooth trackball. I'll be buying one soo and I'll let you know what I think.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

I saw this one, but it seems that the website where you get them is down (has been for the week I've looked for it). So I don't know if they make it anymore it's 2 years old.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

IIRC, the company that built that product was run by a guy who among other things ran an Apple rumor site. He wasn't exactly known for being a legitimate businessman, and was basically accused of fraud several times, including stealing designs for products from one of his competitors by pretending to apply for a job, etc. There's a long and complex saga involved, but it suffices to say that even if they were still in business, you'd be better off not buying the product in question. :smileyhappy:

It looks like Kensington now has a bluetooth travel mouse that also switches into trackball mode.

I'm interested to see how this thing performs, or since it's so small if it could be modded into a Trackman case.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

Depends on the senor package that they are using. A lot of companies use the Avago sensors for their mice/trackballs. If it's a newer model (I think it is based on the thickness) then the sensor goes into a pcb. It may be possible to modd, but it the same possiblity as modding something like the v470 from logitech. It's all a matter of where the sensor is pointing and how many sections of pcb they are using. One thing that may be possible is to unsolder the sensor and create a custom pcb for the sensor that points to the ball with wires that go to where the sensor originally was. Shouldn't be terrible other then button placements and the typical alignment issues.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

Just posting here to say that I would love a bluetooth TrackMan. Been using Logitech trackballs for as long as I can remember, and bluetooth just makes sense for those of us with laptops. I would buy one as soon as it came out.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

Hello Logitech,

I am looking for different type of mouse than what is offered on your website. I would like to see a Micro-Receiver or Blue tooth used with a Cordless TrackMan® Wheel body, I thought I should ask for one to be created like many other posts. I have been fan of the trackman wheel for many years.

One post wrote ”Most people don't like trackballs, until they use it for more then a week. A lot of people in my environment now use trackballs, and they love it!” I personally have converted 5 people over the years and just a month ago I converted my boss.

I am using 2 Corded TrackMan® Wheel's because I don’t like the cord attached to the cordless receiver for use with my laptop. I did try and velcro the receiver on the back of my screen but the direct line of site made the mouse movements choppy.

I would buy 2 immediately - most likely pre-order.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

I just want to add my voice and request that Logitech offer a bluetooth trackball (preferably a TrackMan Wheel w/bluetooth). I know the market segment for trackballs is probably tiny, but nobody is building these. Logitech would have the entire bluetooth trackball market in its pocket. Please Logitech, build a bluetooth trackball. People have been begging you for years now.

Re: Trackball Bluetooth?

I've been using the Trackman Wheel for at least 5 years and have converted several family members from the mouse to the trackball. I've wondered why there is no Bluetooth trackball for 2 years. I was in the market for a new trackball and was amazed that the Trackman Wheel hadn't changed (or progressed) in that amount of time.

The number of times I've caught my trackman usb cable on a doorknob as I move my laptop from room to room is beyond high enough for me to buy a bluetooth Trackman.

That said, I think you can even see that Logitech is ashamed of their current wireless trackman series because they never show the little wireless receiver dongle in any pictures. So why not come clean and make those pictures legit by making it blue tooth device.

FYI, I could see including a USB cable for charging or using the device as if it was a normal wired trackball. That way you wouldn't be stuck with a dead device.
